How To Choose The Right Length Laces For Skates – Lucky Skates Pty Ltd

It’s a question as old as time that we get in store again and again.

What size laces do I need for my roller skates?

Skate laces are made in a number of different lengths and the length you choose will be dependant on the style of boot you have, the size of the boot and your personal preference.

Lace Me Up

Different skates take different length laces depending on the size of your skates, boot height and number of eyelets.

Lots of people order the wrong length because they don’t know what to get so here’s some of the most popular lace lengths as decided by us.

Low Cut Derby Skates

Most speed skates, low cut derby skates or low cut skates generally take 60″ or 72″ laces.

Examples of low cut skates would be the Riedell R3, Bont Hybrid and Sure-Grip GT50.

High Top Skates

The high top, boot skate or heeled skate generally take 96″ laces.

The Bauer or roller hockey skate generally take 108″ or 120″ laces.

The higher cut Antik skates usually take between a 96″ to 108″.

Examples of high top skates would be the Moxi Lolly, Moxi Beach Bunny, Impala Roller Skates.

You Do You

As always, people vary and you might like your laces longer or shorter than us.

You might have a very large or very small size skate.

You might like to skip laces or wrap your lace around your skate multiple times.

That’s cool, you do you!

Don’t forget if you want to know exactly what length you have (and you can be bothered) you can always take your laces out and measure them yourself.

Problem solved!

All our laces are here, head over and take a look.
