We’re all together skating in the streets we’re wearing these bright colorful summery outfits they see us on the beach on the hills in the skate park when you’re in long beach you’ll see roller skaters all over you’ll see them commuting you’ll see them on the beach you’ll see them everywhere and it is
Because of mockery she used to go to every single one of my lessons yep and her girlfriend yeah we all have thunder thighs and we all have butts and it’s because these legs and these muscles help us be more powerful in the parks and we can skate
And learn how to do more tricks and jump higher and spin faster and dance longer for us skating isn’t just a hobby it is our lifestyle estrogen is the moxie queen When estrogen hits the skate park everyone’s eyes light up their jaws drop and they’re just stunned indy is the wild child she is the free spirit always discovering yourself and going places legs is the local girl she’s from long beach and she’s everyone’s little sister pigeon’s kind of our gangster pigeon was
A hill bomber for a very long time she knows how to stop on a dime on a hill no matter how steep it is bonsai is the spunky loud center of us all she kind of brings us all together [Applause] when we first started skating in the parks it was really intimidating it was all men all on skateboards staring at us because we looked absolutely insane in our roller skates it doesn’t matter what we wear or what we look like because we can do some seriously badass stuff
When people see us at parks in dresses or short shorts and knee socks they think that we’re doing it to impress other people when in reality we do it because that’s what makes us feel good and what we feel like skating in that day you don’t really expect us to like
Dive into a ditch skates first or jump in the half pipe or go straight down this hill and they’re like wow that’s crazy girls could do that moxie is a word that means bravery strength and fortitude it’s like a woman’s gusto you may always fall but you’re always going to get back up
I swear i can do it that’s the first time i’ve ever fallen you can almost just put on skates and you’re part of the sisterhood of people that all roller skate and have a lot of things in common and if you don’t have a lot of things in common your one
Language you have is that you all skate together We are tall and short we are thick and skinny the most important thing is we’re all strong
