Cure good evening welcome to play news the number one Broadway news show I just got back from the states I was at Spring Cup and I thought I should recap everything I saw going on there there was a lot of new products it was a
Completely new format and I got to do a lot of cool things and I can’t wait to tell you about it so if you didn’t know I went to the states to do a couple weeks of Street skating ending at Spring Cup and uh day one I actually got to run
Into Biz where I learned that he’s not a fan of Blade and use but luckily uh we did run into him again halfway through the trip and uh we made up he took me out to get some tacos introducing me to sneaky which was super dope and uh
Overall we had a really good session we even got a back-to-back top asset here which I’ll show you and he seemed sorry about uh beating my ass but come to think of it the tacos I had were kind of absolutely terrible look at that
It looks like I got a salad I swear I got some tacos this it was just tortillas and lettuce kind of probably the worst meal I had on the entire trip maybe he planned that maybe we’re not good anyway back on your back uh blading
Cup happened new format and I got a lot to tell you about it first up if you didn’t know the new format I’m referring to is this wasn’t a usual competition like blading cap has been before this was a cash or trick setup meaning uh instead of you just having Heats and
Someone standing at the end of the heat to win anyone could win cash as long as you learn something cool and one of the three obstacles they had set up I know the last plating cup the uh Park setup was kind of like this the whole time but
Uh someone who’s there this time haven’t heard the talk about it this time the obstacles were really well done there was a good progression and then it was kind of a nice safe one and they progressively got harder to skate and uh definitely in person some of these were
Impossible to scare especially that last day one so seeing anyone lay some tricks on that was very impressive it was crazy for me to see a bunch of uh people who I’ve been seeing online right next to me a bunch of I saw a bunch of really cool skaters absolutely throw down from
Michael whitsman to yandriao to John bellino here who are if you weren’t sure about this format you can actually still win then was a was called MVP of the night and uh the blade are taking that away was John Ballina winning a thousand dollars cash on top of all the cash he
Got for the best Trixie down on each spot as it is massive congrats to him also a massive shout out to Jaquan who took away the MVP for the quad cup as well lacing it absolutely down but I do feel like I missed a lot of the skating
At this event mostly because I was so distracted by the trade show it was so hard to sit there and watch the skating when there’s all these like crazy new products happening right behind me in the trade show so I was kind of living there but at the same time I don’t think
I managed to get around to every single trade show booth so sorry to anyone I missed don’t take it personally I just suck okay before I knew it the trip was over anyway the first thing I saw when I walked into the trade show was this
Brand new white mizma boot at the misma booth which was so hype there was three skates out each of them had a different line and this one has the thinnest liner or all of them which means the amusement’s already built quite a nice range of products already and this
Colorway looks so fresh I don’t know if it was because it was such a small boot to head out but there White and the gray looks so nice billionaire was talking about how this now we’re originally just gonna do black but they were told by one
Of the people on the team they should try gray and that’s such a good choice because I think the white and the gray looks so damn good and this has got to be the best looking mismo so far and something I learned on this trip too
About the misma skates is uh even the black soul plates but anyway this is quite the introduction to uh the blading cup and I was surprised to see average rally took these horrible pictures here of the skates and I saw everyone shearing these and it was super strange
It’s like dude I could have taken a way with a picture of this but I figured someone already had and that’s the biggest key I took away from this whole event as while I’m there and I get why this doesn’t happen when I’m not there
It’s really hard to not just live in the moment where you’re there it’s such an overwhelming great experience as a role player to be there that uh just the thought of going content brand trying to take the best picture of the skater and leak stuff
It’s super hard to get into so I don’t have any really good pictures here but I got a lot of good information for you and some of the information is about the faction brief that was there they had a bunch of new skates some that aren’t out
Yet some that you’ve already seen and I must say in person these skates are beautiful especially the red here I can’t remember who skate is that the shred pool skate I think it is but when you put that in the light this is something no one’s showing you I kind of
Wish I filmed I don’t know why I was at the at the desk talking to Clark I Never filmed it but when you put the carbon that has red highlights and the light is Sparkles and it’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before it looks so nice and premium
And uh sounds like Clark got a really good deal on it too which is good uh Clark also showed me some teases for a new colorway that’s coming in the future that looks absolutely insane and so nice as well as some talk about the plastic
Boot that they work on as well that we took about last time overall very exciting things for faction one of the coolest things they show up here though was which once again I don’t have any pictures of but I seem to be teasing something similar here and so the idea
Behind faction if you haven’t heard me say it enough is a skate that you can tailor to be how you want it meaning you can change Parts on it and they’re all compatible there’s like an ecosystem so you can dial in you can change your car
If you can change the sole plate you can change the line and just make it Escape for you within its own ecosystem and the first step of that has just happened with a new sole plate from Justin Thursday that was showing off that doesn’t have that massive kind of fit at
The back like the uh the normal factions do I should probably show you a picture that would be smart so I’ve only heard good things about this massive squares sole plate here making it real good for like rough souls and stuff like that but uh they do have a new Option now that
Doesn’t have that which is very cool to see and they seem to have another new Option here I don’t know if there’s blue one it might be the same one that I saw at uh by Capital I’m not sure my memory is bad and I didn’t take any pictures because
I’m a dumbass but uh it looks very nice look how nice this blue looks very very nice see we shut off a brand new white version of the CJ Pro skates uh the cj2 prime to be exact he was skating them they only had the prototypes they’d been
Skating and they look beautiful in person too it seems to be the time for a white skate from every company uh but yeah it was cool to see CJ For the First Time person skating wow he’s a great dude and a great skater sadly though someone actually stole this only copy of
The skates at the cup which is really disappointing to see CJ put this in a story here someone broke into the van stole not only the one-off white pair of prototype skates but a bunch of other super skates too just super lame I was warned about this at the cup you kind of
When you’re at the cup you’re surrounded by a Bladers you kind of feel like you can trust everyone they’re all your homies right but I had a couple homies tell me like don’t let that trust give you a false sense of security there are still bad actors in there that’ll steal
and this was super lame to see and if you have those Gates you you suck you should uh probably return them if you have them that’s pretty lame for you to do that you okay anyway next up moonshine had a new Pro wheel for K loves which is super cool to
See uh there was a premium for her in it here which was very very cool to watch uh nice little street edit here really showing off her abilities and uh the fact that she’s an artist as well and I think the packaging for this Pro wheel really has done so well once again
Moon’s trying to smash out of the park so if you can’t tell it is a spray paint can that’s the case for the wheels and the actual top of this is usable it’s wax it comes with wax that’s how it’s sealed in and uh they’re sold out so you
Missed out but um very very cool nice little wheel congrats to kilos she’s great skater and I can’t tell you how hype it was to be there for before the premiere man everyone was so hyped for such a good environment God I wish I lived closer so I could catch more
Premieres like that but anyway one of the other highlights of the trip was meeting these Soul skaters and seeing them all shred in person there’s such a cool crew with great great just everything going on one thing that was selling was these dope shirts which I
Didn’t I certainly went out of my budget and couldn’t afford but one thing I did manage to get was these Sig custom cuff bolts here with that SS engraved into it it’s on my setup right now the camera’s not gonna let me show you but I’m rocking them right now and I
Think it’s really cool to have a custom cuff ball like this I don’t know how I haven’t seen that done yet I absolutely loved it and I can’t wait to see more from them definitely uh go give them a follow and cop some of these because they’re sick another Premiere I saw at
Blading cup was Micah woodsman’s new Pro eater which is out right now I definitely recommend checking it out uh but what’s the men’s one of the uh coolest dudes in skating right now definitely on the come up with a new kind of style skating and this edit he’s
Been working on it for about a year and uh it’s really a quite a quite a cool watch definitely recommended it was hard to be in person for the premiere there was so much energy in it just so much STEEZ in this video and uh one cool
Thing I got to see at the cup was his new Pro Skate or the early Pro prototype for it and I will say it is not what I expected uh it’s definitely uh not playing it safe and I love that about it uh he told me some things are going to
Change on it though from what I saw but uh anyway I’m so happy to see this super excited to see the final product and uh it was really cool to make what’s a man you’re the man man keep killing it I also want to give a quick
Shout out to Seoul grinds coffee uh with some great coffee that I got I got like a one of the famous iced coffees was yeah really good definitely going chicken it out seems like a good Mash together any other things I want to quickly smash out every single person I
Met at blading cup was the highlight of my trip and all of them have some kind of story for me I’m absolutely hard for uh John Julio though so I bought this new brain dead shirt here the new brain did collab that have come out too is
Super sick I should probably talk about that eh there’s a bunch of new reindeer collab shirts that are all super sick they have like a kind of I’ve been told it looks kind of rugratsy and I see that I had to cop on while I was there I ended up getting this one
And uh definitely size up if you buy them they’re like kind of a standard fit they’re not a long fit so I had to get the extra large instead of a large which means I had to go return the shirt right and when I go to return the shirt guess who’s working
My man John Julio so I had to return the shirt for John Julio and he’s a man he’s super kind go swap the shirt out for me no problem and I got a chance to ask him about this uh leaked skate that we saw earlier uh you would have
Seen this I think Tom always talked about it there was a skate spot on the background of a theme skate story people spotted this cream colored uh 99 skate here that no one has seen yet and uh I took the opportunity to ask John Julio about it and he seemed pretty shocked
That uh anyone had seen this yet he uh he had no idea well at least he was a very good acting if he had any idea and uh he told me that uh sometimes they just have colors that they’re trying out around just one-offs and that uh doesn’t mean
Anything I’ll let you read into that what you want um I also asked him if there’s anything coming out over blading cup and he said maybe and nothing has come out yet so uh take everything with a grain of salt I guess but uh yeah it seems like uh the
Schmidium and the Not So extra Smalls are in the works and they’re not too far away and overall just getting to be at the them skate shop seeing John Julio scene everything’s been put into this brand I’m currently skating right now it was very very cool there’s so many great
Moments of this trip for me and uh this is definitely one of the massive thank you to John Julio I’m excited to see what them’s doing let’s see so I’m kind of basing this episode on a haul of what I got from blading cup one of the the
Most expensive thing I got but also the thing I have that has made the most difference and I’m super happy with is the as is a three year strap here it is here it is a shoulder strap and I don’t know why they rank more shoulder straps
And bleeding because it is so much easier to carry skates on your shoulder versus carrying with your hand and I have to walk pretty far I want to go skate some places and uh the backpack is too big and clunky it’s on your backpack and when you hold it with your hand it
Hurts so this has been absolute Game Changer and I love it definitely recommend checking them out if you get a chance to seeing him they have a normal hand strap and a shoulder strap get the shoulder strap it’s sick was that a lot of the way the last thing I
Want to talk to you about is the thing that got me the most excited the thing that really charged you up on baiting and that I cannot wait for everyone to get their hands on and that was the new standard skates law got the first ever prototype the samples the rough cuts the
Ones without any finished kind of textures or materials or anything he got them they showed up I think the day before we came to Sprint Cup and he did the reveal he put them in a glass box once again and uh they look great this was the black colorway not the white it
Was just the right boot not the left the left one is hiding away somewhere else with uh some guy who uh was still looking to find the name of um and I will say seeing it in the Box the Box still did a lot to block what it
Looked like uh it really did distort it the box once again great idea to make it so you just can’t look at the skate with these you still there’s still some mystery to it but then that night law hit me up and was like do you want to
Come around and have a Hands-On with a skate so I can explain what’s going on with it to you before I head out a Sprint Cup and this is probably the highlight of my whole entire trip uh getting to talk to law about this and find out about everything that’s
Happening with the skate was uh super cool very nice of him to let me do he even let me be the one to post the first ever pictures of the skate not in the box which I appreciate and he told me everything about them but it’s really
Important to note here that this is not the final skate this is the first ever like prototype made up really rough copy of it uh the materials the textures Everything’s Gonna Change and even the line is not finalized some of the hardware is not finalized
Um but I can tell you what is finalized and I also can tell you a lot of things about it I don’t even know where to start but uh let me tell you this is the thing that’s got me the most excited so I actually got to try these on which is
Quite cool uh so I’m usually I’m a size EU 4344 around about us 10 and a half and these were a samples for 42 eu42 so they should not have fit me but uh law said I can try them on I thought I was going to smash through them trying to
Put them on but my foot got in there and surprisingly the length was good for me but the uh the height wasn’t I wouldn’t skate the size it was a bit too tight but uh I’m so glad that they fit me because they got to feel what it’s going
To be like to actually skate in these skates and it feels great The Flicks the height of the cuff Everything feels really good it feels like a nice stand escape with a good like it feels good I’m hyped I can’t wait to actually get my size and start skating them
Um one thing you’ll probably noticed straight away is it has a riveted cuff and this is how they’re going to be sold it’s going to have a riveted cuff uh one thing the law SIDS me every time I asked about it was uh the only time he ever
Thinks or even anyone ever hears about calf bolts as when you lose one and uh he’s not a fan of changing the cuff color on the boot so uh they’re riveting it on which I think is great that’s one of the things I love the most about the
M12 Simplicity is good if you really want to put a different color cuff on you can always drill it out but uh I think not having to worry about it coming loose is a huge Advantage another thing you may notice is uh there’s some similarities to a lot of skates I’ve
Seen before and that is because law has taken every skate that he likes taking the bitsy likes of them and put them all together into one Dream Come True Skate and I think he’s done a great job with it the first thing you might see here is
This crease along the side here looks kind of like a sway I see a lot of people saying it looks like a sway especially from the side here that looks like a sway but it’s actually taking inspiration from The Fifth Element and it’s going to have some functionability
Where the plastic from that crease onwards is going to be a bit softer and thinner making the laces actually kind of do something similar to like a 908.99 not quite as good as that but that’s the idea I didn’t really get to test it out
But early days you know we’ll see and it looks great I think it looks really good you also notice that it has the uh the heel and the toe plate definitely taking some inspiration from them skates there and uh I think it looks really good I think done a great job with it
I don’t know where to start there’s so much to tell you about this man I got to see the soul play and it is a very nice generous Soul plate uh nothing too weird about it’s quite flat on the top you can kind of see in this picture
Here it’s very flat to one side meaning it’s gonna be really good for sis slides top sides it’s got a nice heel plate so there’ll be none of that weird kind of slipping out of ellipse soles like you sometimes have on them skates uh the saw plate is actually tapered in as well
Like if you’ve ever skated Rim skates you would have seen that it’s all black kind of leans to help you kind of get into the trick a bit more than you usually would don’t know why that is more common but it’s cool to see all the
Grooves on the scape uh kind of design very old school and the fact that you kind of make your own Groove like you see on this Frame it’s going to be sold any setup you kind of want how you want to get it but you can get Antioch a flat
It can escape for both but you see this is a very tight very old-school looking Groove that lines up nice with the soleplate group here and the idea is that you break it in yourself gonna be very interesting to skate I like the uh kind of nostalgia look of it and I’m
Excited for that for sure hope you guys are too now the reason we haven’t got a whole picture of this sole plate yet is because there’s some Hardware stuff that’s still sorting out so time only time will tell for that you also notice the top down does look quite aeony
Uh I think it was it felt better than aeon it’s quite a uh it’s got It’s a not a narrow skate which is nice it’s got a good fit it doesn’t feel big and wide and clunky like I kind of feel like the fifth elements are I feel like this is
Another great sweet spot for a skate you also notice it has a slight v-cut which is kind of nice not too deep but not too high up the and uh a big thing about it is everything on it is going to actually be scalable you would have heard me talk
A lot about that in our interview and in The Last Blade and use but to him if a product that comes with the skate isn’t skatable then it just costs the customer money and is a waste so everything on it from the liner to the wheels to the
Bearings is going to be premium and actually last and I will note once again that you will be able to buy this skate not only boot only with no liner but with the liner as a flat setup and as an Antiochus setup you can really be able
To customize it exactly how you want and uh which I think is great I think the Skateway actually worked really well with intuition liner too judging by how it felt it was quite a puffy liner which was nice not too puffy but definitely had some cushion to it but one of the
Things that I think is the most unique about the skate that I’m very excited for is that little white line you see around the edge now it’s not just a crease in the skate And if you’re there in person you’ll notice that it is like
A dent into it it’s concaved and the way it actually works is the whole bottom of the skate is concave like that the sole plate kind of sits around it and then lines up with the top part that’s if I can explain that well I don’t know if I
Can without showing you but um if you see like this part of the skate here is a level with the sole plate so but when you take the sole plate off it’s all the levelness of the white bit I could be wrong about that we didn’t
Get to take this whole plate off but that’s how I understood it um what that means is that you can customize this White Strip however you want and it’s going to stay white unlike when you like paint an aeon or something and you start scraping it off it should
Be very well protected in that crease and stay nice and bright forever meaning you can come in with any color you want any design you want and really go crazy with it and it will survive there’s also something else really cool about that whole part of the skate that I won’t
Spoil and there’s a bunch of other really really really exciting things about it that overall have me super super excited about this whole company and this skate in general I cannot wait to have my hands on it it’s not too far away it’s coming out this year
