It was the first time that all fights getting clubbed in Barbados came together for this first ever Championship which was contested in the female and male category the first competitor on the floor was one of the youngest of the Night 10 year old Sky garage AKA SkyDrive from the Sky High skaters Club
Doing her thing on the dance floor for the judges looking like a dazzling superhero on the wheels during this piece but as young as she was she wasn’t the youngest not on her way to six-year-old Anora Lewis but on the floor they call her Nora skates proudly representing skate life Barbados
This is her first competition but at such a young age and with such confidence I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more of both young ladies other competitors in the female category including the tall and elegant Tia TT buckles also from skate life Barbados Kim kimono Rock in her dazzling Neil
Diamond like top the crowd really enjoyed her performance she’s also from skid life but the overall winner in this category was this athlete she was an independent skater Jamie JT Thomas from the US who brought their supportive code alive with her Lively performance [Applause] Their men’s category had 11 male contestants who really came out to have a good time adding some Flair to the event with their gimmicks especially these included Michael Thomas from skid like Barbados but known as Magic Mike on the floor but really skating within himself on this night [Applause] however it was the final two skaters in this section who really brought the house down contestant number 10 Adrian the Aruba Wilkinson really feeling the music just having some fun on the dance floor and check out some of these moves is that a moonwalk on wheels [Applause]
But if ever the expression saving the best for last was true it was on this night because Patrick Messiah from good skin Cruisers really brought the house down with this piece using his music and body to good effect this man had the moves and he left it all on the Dance Floor no
Wonder he emerged as winner of this category skating away with a thousand dollar prize bringing that curtain down on the first and hopefully more to come the Cassius Clay challenge trophy roller skate challenge
