Including 28 gold, 38 silver, and 41 bronze. This is the first time that India won more than 100 medals. With 107 medals, India finished at 4th position on the medal tally table. Wow! The final of the Men’s cricket was played between India and Afghanistan. India won the toss and chose to bowl.
However, after Afghanistan’s batting, rain disrupted the match and India couldn’t bat. Since the Indian team had a higher rank, they were given the Gold medal. Afghanistan was given the silver medal. The men’s kabaddi final was played between India and Iran. The game was temporarily suspended due to some arguments.
The match resumed after a while and ended with India winning the gold. Women’s kabaddi team also won a gold medal. Indian men’s hockey team won gold and with this win got an Olympic quota for Paris 2024 While the women’s hockey team took bronze.
Indian shooters achieved remarkable success securing a total of 22 medals, including seven golds India won medals in cricket, kabaddi, badminton, etc making it a memorable Asian Games for India in 2023. On the other hand, Pakistan could only manage to win 3 medals at Asian Games 2023 – one silver and two bronze.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed happiness over the historic performance of the Indian contingent. What a proud moment for India.
