This is what they got to do towards the end of the year is continue to make progress ran one of the things that you see when you when you’re watching Tommy play is just looks like everybody’s having fun around here can you quantify that as a coach and and does that how
Much does that help um I don’t know if you can quantify it I just think that I think he’s you know got a great mentality um he enjoys himself out there he’s serious when he needs to be he you know for a young you know undrafted rookie um you know he’s worked extremely
Hard um since OTAs and he’s made progress still got a ways to go obviously he’s only played three games and started three games but I’d say the you know the defensive guys you know he’s out there in show team dancing in the defensive huddle this week you know
He just he’s got a little Moxy to him in terms of his personality um but there’s still a lot to to work on where has he made the biggest strides in your opinion in this short time that he’s been a starter yeah I think he’s played two
Good games in a row so he’s made good decisions what we ask him to do he’s made the necessary throws um you know he’s he’s done his job you know for the most part the way that a quarterback needs to do his job to you know to help
Us obviously we want to score more points no question about it but there’s a lot of things that that go into that too as well so um you know we just all got to keep doing our job and doing it as well as we can how much of an
Adjustment was it at half time when they switched quarterbacks not much now we were doing our you know I thought we had a good plan all the way through we watched both quarterbacks um but I thought you know most importantly was you know for us to
Play well and we didn’t get off to a good start in the second half there we kick the ball out of bounds they get the ball they drive down and hit a couple third Downs at score but you know the resiliency was good and then you know we
Ended up making that kick after we kicked the ball out of bounds um we ended up making the what was 43 yard whatever it was to go up 10 um obviously had some more chances to get some points on the board we’ll work on that um that’s what we’ll do you know coaching
Wise in the this upcoming week D how big of a momentum swing was the uh was the challenge when you talked about the start of the second half yeah four down and one I thought I don’t know I thought it was uh obviously it was a big play

Bringing along and um you know those guys work extremely hard to do everything they can possibly do Brian you you um um might you know likely might not have won without three interceptions and could have lost if you threw even one what it could have should have no I’m I’m just saying how
Difficult with a rookie like this is is it to get in his head that you can’t turn the ball over it’s easier said than done you know he’s not doing that yeah i’ I’d prefer not to say you can’t turn the ball over I’d prefer to say make
Good decisions so that’s what we’ve asked him to do that’s what he’s continued to do you know the ball came out there on one of the scrambles which we just talked about it got a little rainy out but um you know our mindset is you know what we need to do so be
Proactive and making good decisions um you know I don’t like telling players they can’t you know don’t turn the ball over or don’t do this or don’t do this like it’s a competitive game things are going to happen I’d rather give them you know this is what we expect from you uh
But that’s the culture we’re trying to build one thing he’s not doing Tommy he’s not doing is um forcing any of his passes but but does that lead to sometimes some holding the ball too long um you know maybe I think you take the good with the bad on some of those um
Because sometimes it gives you 50 60 y or down the field something will continue to work on rush there’s there’s probably plays in there um that we could maybe get the ball out maybe not you know there’s things that happen it happens quickly um I think he’s made

Uh I mean I don’t think it was really like difficult we was just preparing for whoever was going to be in the game um you know we we knew you know who they had at quarterback we knew the different quarterbacks but for us it’s it’s all
About what we do it’s all about how we execute and and how we can go out there and and be able to play aggressive and be able to make plays so regardless of who the quarterback was we you know we weren’t really concerned about that we
Just wer to worry about what we were doing on our side of the ball you had one veteran in the defense s Dory Jackson comes back makes some nice passes defens but you also lost ex to Lawrence which was which was a big hurt somehow you guys were able to still grit

Football he has a nose for the football and he’s reading plays I remember the play where he had the interception I’m reading the Deep over right from the beginning bayy zappy had his eyes over there at you know from the snap of the football and I’m pointing at it I’m like
There’s the over and he read it just as if not quicker than I did and Bailey zappy kind of telegraphed to throw and he was all over it and made a pick and made a big play so his maturity is what’s going to bring not only that secondary but that entire defense
Together and the more he can continue to play at a high level and all the the all of the entire leadership on that defense can continue to match his level of play they should land in a good spot when the leaders of the team specifically the defense like Xavier McKenna and Bobby
Oer are playing well it let you know one thing these guys are putting in the time they’re preparing they’re watching film in order to know that route was coming you’ve got to study and you’ve got to be prepared that’s how plays happen when preparation meets opportunity so we’re

Andrews and bols him over makes the sack that’s huge plays huge opportuni stepping up and then Kavon Tibido while he didn’t have the resck performance he did the week before he had a number of quarterback hits he had the force fumble he’s still making an impact and I think
This defense that energy contagious when they have a lead whenever we score first and they play with the lead they have a different Edge to them and I think that’s really been the Catalyst for this entire team preparation meets opportunity the key to success that’s something that Jaylen Hyatt I’m sure

Started trusting me more uh so it was a great day great day for us we all talk about bichi disguising defenses and giving rookie quarterbacks a lot of trouble on those big plays was there anything deceptive about it or did you and Tommy just read it correctly yeah
You know Bill bich obviously uh a great great coach and um appreciate appreciate you f uh obviously a great coach uh we knew they was going to come in disguising a lot um but for us I you know Tommy played a great game uh he checked when he needed to check uh plays
Uh he read it right and I’m just following him you know he’s a quarterback so uh the plays that he was calling when he was um you know in the Huddle of what we’re saying on defense it worked out for us when looks for you the ball always seems to be right there
How much of that is timing and chemistry that you guys as rookies were able to develop by able to throw to each other for for some time over over the summer yeah you know we started in rookie mini camp uh then OTA is the training camp so
Um you know for me I wasn’t really with the ones uh starting off and me and Tommy was with the three starting off so we kind of buil chemistry off that just off the uh you know during the offseason going into uh the uh season so um but at
The same time it just goes to our preparation uh Tommy had a great game you know it all starts with a quarterback you know for you know in the league so I’m just I’m very proud of him and what he has done uh but for us we

Just looking back at my photos on my phone and just seeing how he was and his temperament and even back then he was just so bridey right he’s just like I get to throw to Victor Cruz and just relishing in that moment and me just
Being as excited as I was for him just him being a jersey kid him having opportunity to play football at a very very big high level so I was a fan of his but to see him grow and mature even in just these last three weeks man you
Just see him more and more confident with the football confident in the game plan and getting the ball out to his pass catchers trusting them giving uh obviously hodin that short pass and letting him you know do what he does with the ball after the catch and just
Seeing Tommy just kind of come into His Zone understanding what his role is on this his football team and owning that has been just special to watch and you see the numbers are proven it for themselves the ball that he throws he’s got nice crisp passes accurate passes
Down the football field and kudos to the coaching staff that kind of loosened up the rein and let him kind of be himself like you could see kind of them being a little bit timid in his first start in his first couple games but now they’re
Like you know what let’s take the chains off this guy let’s let him throw the ball downfield let’s let him let’s put Jaylen Hyatt in that he has a rapport with and has an energy with and you just see it all paying off uh on throw one
Series at a time well I’ll say this’s one thing they’re not taking the chains off of TD they’re they’re adding them to the list I I think one thing that’s interesting about Tommy DeVito and you and I know this from experience we’re both undrafted guys yeah the biggest
Challenge with being an undrafted player in the NFL is feeling like you belong and it’s the confidence and we’re seeing that now from Tommy deito look you belong in the NFL you belong don’t for don’t get it twisted the fact you didn’t get drafted doesn’t mean you’re not a
Good player the NFL is all about can you put in the time are you willing to put in the effort and the time that it takes to be great and when your opportunity Rises up can you make the the most of that and he’s doing just that it’s a

Today and that’s in pass but talk about in run you know he’s stuffing in letting guys like Bobby and Micah you know run in and make plays so uh big shout out to them and you know we keep building together as a unit we going to be unstoppable the three takeaways again
After six against Washington last week man that is a very big spark to what you guys are trying trying to do yeah man we’re watching film guys like Bobby and myself um the safeties they’re they’re getting in together and they they’re watching a film and they’re breaking it

When you got both of them in there was it rough at all to have to make the adjustments n definitely not I think we we just prepare for the scheme you know obviously we know um wink has a a great understanding of their uh head coach and
Play caller so we were able to you know scheme up the team and and whoever was going to come in was just going to be interchangeable now what were you looking for on the last Drive they did get into field goal range they missed the kick obviously that makes you happy
But uh the fact that they got so close I’m sure gave you a little nerves uh we we got to stop the run we knew that last Drive they were going to try to run it um they got it kind of like the 50 45
Yard line so you know we knew that they were going to try to go for a field goal but we just had to Bow up and and fight the next play and uh yeah they missed it so that’s Kavon Tibido as we take a look at his numbers today against the Patriots
Four tackles five combined half a sack uh two tackles for loss and a forced fumble but of course Kavon talking about you know we become a family on film uh and there was a report earlier this week about how Kavon Brian D walked into a meeting and Kavon was kind of taking the
Lead in the film study how important is that for a young player Victor like that to step into that role yeah big time it’s it shows that he’s ready for the leadership role it shows that he’s ready to you know come to the for front in
That regard and really start to lead the pack sort of speak so whenever your players are leading the pack in any way shape or form whether that’s film study whether that’s in workouts whether that’s going to the you know going to the weight room getting extra work on
The DRS after like whatever that looks like if your leaders and your guys and your players are the ones leading those groups out to the field that’s what you want and he mentioned becoming a family in the film room that’s exactly what you want out of those guys is getting into
The film room getting into the exes and owns of it because that’s just going to make the opportunities on the the field come a lot more seamlessly yeah the preparation’s key and you know you have was saying the more you sweat in preparation the less you bleed in battle
And I think that’s exactly what we’re seeing uh from Kavon Tibido now the production as you show kind of he had a half sack keep in mind the guy he was going against with the Patriots Trent Brown he’s a damn Planet he’s one of the biggest tackles in the league he’s only
Given up two sacks the entire season so uh you know that was certainly a challenge but he showed up and you know he had a tackle for a loss he had a couple of other big plays so uh there was still a lot of of great production
