Welcome to blad news you’re number one rollway new show now the first thing I want to talk to you guys about tonight is this brand new Soul plate it’s coming from the company angled Souls now you may have seen this picture floating around your Instagram feed of these
Really nice premium looking uhmw sliders for any sou skate and maybe you thought that’s all they were but these are so much more than that and it should have been given away by the name of the company the name angled Souls here is really implying a lot so like the name
Implies the soul plates have angles on them and the goal of these angles is to kind of give you the most coping feel on ledge possible on a skate now this is something I didn’t notice at all when I first saw this product but it was broken
Down nicely in this promo video here alongside a really good first impressions video by code blading 101 here really breaking down the Advanced features of the Soul plate so picture this when you skate ledge you know youd lean into the ledge you kind of tweak
Your foot over when you do it right your soul plate well these so plates add a flat part for you to sit on when you do that and allow you to really lean in so the sole plate shape goes flat like a normal one and then it’s angled up after
A little bit and gives you a full Groove to sit on and that’s not it there’s another Groove after that which is made for C sliding on I got a chance to talk to the two owners of this company about their plans and the whole idea of the
Soulle plate and it really came across how much time has been put into making these the best soul plates possible and how this explained to me is everyone who skated these is Amazed by how much you have to lean how much you can lean over a soul trick with these Soul plates how
Much it changes the feel it’s not 100% like skating coping but it is way closer but the other features this angle gives you is it gives you a buffer for when you miss tricks if you don’t jump quite high enough which you’ve all been there and done that instead of completely
Missing there’s this new buffer to help line you back into the grind saving your shins the other big benefit is when you skate a fat rail you now have something to lock into there is a wide enough Groove to lock the most ridiculous fat rails ever and also if you’re like me
And you don’t really like a big Soul plate because it scrapes on the ground when you turn this angle actually allows you to have more clearance than some of the stock setups of skates because it’s now out of the way the saw Plate’s angled up so when you lean it doesn’t
Touch this is definitely hard to demonstrate without having some on me but after this angled there is a cide Groove that not only helps protect how they wear down so you keep that angle to grind on but also makes an insanely good C sliding Groove to do so you see here
This is a c slide on some raw concrete this is apparently not a fresh new skate park it’s not polished concrete there’s no wax and that is like the most smooth slippery C slide I’ve seen ever on say that smooth and you don’t see any black lines behind they’re not getting ripped
Up it seems almost too good to be true C slide should not be that buttery without a shitload of wax or on like a marbled surface they really didn’t stop with the angle of the soulle play too they also really innovated the backside play it’s designed in like a fontal shape instead
Of like a symmetrical shape and what this does is it really widens the kind of two points of contact you have in Groove tricks like Royal and stuff between the frame and the backside plate and widening that gives you more stability it’s worth noting they originally did try to make them with
Uhmw but found it didn’t hold up long enough and it kind of wore out within a few months and they weren’t happy with that and now they ended up sealing with this brand new custom uhmw that is stronger and faster sliding it’s only made for them apparently stuff supposed
To be very very strong and slippery uh to the point where even making these like when they get cut out or milled it destroys the drill piece in every five pieces and it’s also worth noting that one of the co-owners actually built and designed the machine that cuts these out
Which is so impressive and it takes around about 5 hours after they’ve got the block that’s already been cut of this uhmw for them to be cut out the big downside to that though obviously is it’s going to be expensive to make and these are by no means a cheap Soul play
Or aftermarket product they are quite expensive but it should last you and it should completely change the way grinds feel and while I got to talk to these guys was very clear to me that they this is a passion project that they are fully behind and really well thought out and
That they just absolutely love robling which makes it very easy to promote and get behind not to mention they do have a pro team for their soul plays which is so sick I never thought I’d say that in my life and the pros get royalties for
Every sale they get which is really good to hear right now you can pre-order some earale sliders with some them skate Soul plates and some mesma soul plates coming very very soon I’ll be testing out the them version of these which I’m very excited for and overall I’m super
Impressed by this design and I’m surprised no one has done it before we’ve had Soul plates that are flat we’ve had Soul plates that angle inwards we’ve never had someone think about the fact that when you’re on ledge you need a soul plate to lean outwards I’d love

But there is a kind of leaked one of him skating the 1992 skates here on a unreleased version of the 1992 skate it’s the Black Version now if you didn’t know the 1992 has never came out in black and I think this is a a it’s a product that people would really want

Prod I want to tell you about is that someone’s remade the skate dices this uh team hip skate they’ve made some skate dices you know you can play a game of Blade against yourself really cool products always cool to see those around you can get them from some skate shops
Right now I know they’re at carrier skate shop you can order them and apparently it works for Bladers and quad skaters which is really cool and then we need to talk about this big announcement from adapt and how they discontinuing their main aggressive skate the brutality so if you want to get the
Brutality you’ve been thinking about it you need to do that for the 21st of January next year cuz they will not make them anymore after that and when I first saw this announcement I thought it was them leaving aggressive which honestly would make sense after the year they’ve
Had with the aggressive scene and you could even assume that they put this thing up here to show the skates they discontinuing so they’re not making this one anymore not making this one anymore not making this one anymore not making this one anymore or this one or this one
But they are making this one and as well as this one and this one as you see here this is an aggressive skate so they do plan to continue making aggressive skates but it’s on a much smaller more personalized scale now this was still quite confusing but was cleared up quite
A bit by an interview that I roller boot hosted shout out friend of the show with Travis and John which are two members of the adapt team where they clarified it way more essentially what’s happened is this skate right here the whole team has much preferred skating the skate
Aggressive and found it a way better aggressive experience and it apparently outperforms the brutality in a million ways and to them it makes sense to just dive into to just having this skate as the option now I find this quite a wild move cuz this version of the aggressive
Skate they have is much more expensive and kind of a lot more Out Of Reach adaps are already quite expensive but this is another big step up so it be quite interesting to see how they go but uh it’s definitely good that they’re still un aggressive and like I always
Said I always am happy that adap can fill apart of the rooll baiting umbrella you know they fit that premium handmade product which is really cool to see and it would have been really sad to see that go so what you can expect from the future is the whole de team to be
Skating this version the Super Liga it’s the Super Liga aggressive skate ride that’s the name of it I think uh which will be interesting to see but uh you do have one more chance to get the brutality and they have one last Pro Skate for John FR that just came out
Which is inspired by a Formula 1 car or something and this beautiful black and mint one looks very nice congrats again to John from it’s cool to see he put out a really nice edit to promote these which I definitely recommend checking out and he’s actually been skating them
Here in New Zealand which has been a wild one to see no never ever see Pros skate in New Zealand which makes sense there’s kind of no reason to come here to skate so Props to jump for taking his honeymoon here so he can skate now I can’t mention this I rollu interview
