We’re still in LA and we’re heading to Simi Valley this morning come on let’s go so do you remember our very first week in America we saw Nancy also known as cat 69 Nancy is a SE and quilter and she’d said to me I’ve got a whole load
Of fabric for you I’ve got suitcase that you can take it home and I said we’ll come back for it before we leave so here we are again well Nancy’s been to the donut shop and she’s bought something delicious let’s have a look oh my good goodness me they look
Amazing as I said Nancy is a quilter so she’s going to show me how she does quilts you’re going to tape it with okay then you’re going to take the batting and you put it down like that okay you have to iron everything and then you put
The material down right now you tape everything down okay and I always start in the middle and you do just go in yeah all the way through yeah and back out and then I go all the way down right all the way across and all the way across
That and you go from one end yeah to the other to the other now I’m learning some key skills here Nan’s giving me all the good stuff this is for you this is 2 and 1/2 in squares right lovely okay you can make binding with that okay and that she

In northamp and she’s given me this to take back Dave Sonic Jordan Sonic and friends Adventures okay out of Northampton okay and he’s at Cafe track on Fridays okay so we will take that and we will say hello and we will send him your warmest regards
Yeah what how crazy is that when you think about it that we live in Northampton and Nancy watches lots of YouTube videos from the same area it makes you realize how small and how connected we all are I love that are we going to Walmart first no Target Target
First we’re also going to Hobby Lobby yeah we’re seeing all the sites today so here we go We’re going for a Wonder look at this hat I’m loving this and these bags Glenn’s got a t-shirt we’re just looking at the baby stuff I saw these little jackets how cute are they but they haven’t got two in the same size do love a good container so what are these Peak
They’re marshmallow like like little birds yeah so just looking for some stuff to take home for the kids oh my my goodness love it love it love it so here we are at Hobby Lobby my goodness don’t think we’ll get one of those in our suitcase oh these
This is what they made those those panels those panel they made they make them in the books books but you make you take the same thing and make it into a quilt there’s so much stuff in here ladies just said this is a medium store so it’s not even one of their biggest

Welcome to Sunday we are off to Santa Monica today I’ve done some laundry this morning one thing that I love about these Best Western Hotels the ones we’ve stayed in have all had laundry facilities which has meant we’ve been able to do our washing which is great as
You know we only came over with hand luggage the 101 is busy this morning so we’ve decided to go to Santa Monica via Malibu so we’ve taking this really Scenic Road that we took the other day and we’re going to go to Malibu and then drive along the one
Along the coast Road into Santa Monica it’s very AR place isn’t it yeah I could tell the first time we drove through Topanga that this was a really creative Community lots of art use the left two lanes to turn left onto California 1 South so here we are if we turn right we
Go to Malibu left is Santa Monica so we’re going to go left so this road that runs along here is the same road that also runs along where we saw the elephant seals so this goes it ends just past Santa Monica just before around La that’s the
End of it but then it goes all the way up lots and lots of volleyball nets set up there we have parked I was getting a bit worried about parking he was I was a little bit worried about parking it’s like Mrs Warner’s driving it really is I
Am I I get stressed about parking I get stressed about driving even if I’m not the one that’s driving or parking anyway we need to go get a ticket Warner sporting his new t-shirt that he bought yesterday was that a Walmart or a Target Target expensive t-shirt
Ford anyway let’s take a stroll down here you can see Santa Monica pi over there in the distance there’s like a cycle Lane a Walkers Lane it’s a huge beach it is a huge beach some amazing Beachside properties here and what an Outlook that is it’s just amazing it’s just such an active
Place lots of people cycling roller skating could you imagine living this close to the beach it is Mr Warner’s dream walking towards the pier now there been a couple of helicopters flying around we’re going in here cuz it’s Shady then the trapes on in or of anybody who learns the
Trapes so we’ve come away from the beach we’re just having a stroll around now we’re just sitting watching the world go By and we’ve reached the end this is a very cool Street this is that’s actually the Miramar Hotel so M you didn’t tell us you had your own hotel here in Santa Monaco in California we found our way back to the Sea we’re going to walk along I saw some amazing trees back
There we found stairway we got a walkway to cross the road here it’s busy down there all right let’s take a walk along the boardwalk towards the ocean so we sat at that bar we had some nibbles we had some drinks I almost finished reading my book we’ve watched
The world go by now we’re taking another stroll well it won’t be long till the sun sets it’s like a rainbow in the sky but there’s no rain it’s really busy here there’s obviously a lot of people that come down to take in the amazing sunset
Views lot of surfers out there in the sea well this is interesting we’ve got a Dodge and a toy Prius all these cars and right inside and everyone’s everyone’s raring to go like and they’re Off traveling back now up up through top Anga these beautiful pink clouds as the sun setting just such a beautiful light isn’t it I’m going to miss this place Mr Warner oh you yeah good morning and welcome to I have no idea what day it is not a clue Monday
Monday it is Monday welcome to Monday it’s also my birthday oh yes it is 53 years old today I am so we are checking out of this hotel now and heading to the airport we’re not flying today we’re flying tomorrow but we’re staying in an airport hotel overnight so come on let
Let’s get going we’ve got nany’s big suitcase which has got my little suitcase in we’ve just checked out but before we leave there’s a couple of things I want to do I finished reading this book I was a bit disappointed with the ending I always want something a little bit more
Uplifting at the end there’s a thrift store couple of doors down I’m going to drop it in there and then we’re going to go across to the supermarket over the road I want to buy some sweets for the people that work and also me Mom and Debbie here we
Go so let’s go take a look so we just went into Nick the Greeks for some lunch oh it was delicious I smell so much of garlic now why Mr War next stop return in the car we were going to jump on the main road but there’s been some sort of delay or
Accident on there so we’re going to take the long long road round I’m so glad on this holiday we’ve had time we’ve had time to take the slow Road you know what I call that what’s that that’s called reflection time reflection time that’s a bit deep Mr
Warner here we go it’s not bad view is it Mr Warner there’s Santa Monica in the distance it’s pretty spectacular it is pretty spectacular the Getty Villa is up there on top of that Hill is a bit special it is a bit special with views across the ocean we’re on the busy road
Now we’re on the 405 now only for a couple of Miles though got to come off in 3.9 mil we’re just under 2 mil from the car rental place where we’ve got to return the car it’s 81 degrees today I don’t know what that is in English in
English it’s got to be about 28 28 28 like perfect English summer weather look at all these RVs there’s loads of them Glenn what has been your favorite car rental company so far Avis Avis yeah g the best they’ve given us the best car the first one was all right
The extra days were really expensive whereas this is I think for an extra we added another day on to it and it was like $30 so I think that’s a bargain I think they took 26 out of my account yeah well done Avis this way car return nice and
Easy right that was a good car that was so our hotel is that one on the corner Glenn’s like ah yeah it’s be easy we can walk there I’m like Glenn there’s a massive freeway in between it we’re the only mad fools that walk everybody else either gets the
Shuttle here our hotel good news is there’s a Crossing we haven’t got to take our life in our own hand well we got here okay it’s Lovely Hotel actually Glenn’s just checking in so check in is at 4: we can check in early but it’s going going to be an additional $50 this way our last hotel stay of this holiday let’s have a look oh this is lovely oh look lots of space got little sofa chairs a little desk oh this is lovely I’m good you yeah as you’d expect from a hotel airport this is nice though so a
Nice leisurely afternoon sitting reading my book we’re going to go downstairs now for a drink Mr Warner’s reading 1,000 great wines he doesn’t even like win well this is looking a bit special Mr Warner so dinner was lovely but as it’s my birthday I do need to go cake so
There’s a donut Ice Cream Sandwich on the menu and it’s got my name on I did get a birthday cake a so we had such a lovely meal the waiter he brought out my dessert with a candle in sang Happy Birthday and then gave me the dessert on the house so that

About to check out of our very last hotel and head over to the airport we’ve got some time to kill because our flight’s not until 6:00 this evening so we’re going to go downstairs sit in the bar have a cold drink before we head to the airport come on let’s
