A Des Moines roller derby is encouraging people to come out and give the sport a try. They hosted an open house today before they start their boot camp. Later on this month, people were able to sit in on a practice and ask questions about the derby.
The coach says it is a great way to get involved. There’s so many different positions, so many different things to do that every single body type can find a place in it. And beyond that, the community itself is very welcoming to people from all different backgrounds and you know, walks of life,
The boot camp on Wednesday evenings from February 28th to April 17th at no cost, but you do have to provide your own skates just like those right there and those who finish the camp will be invited to a full, uh to be a full league member.
