We’re going to be looking at Psalm 139 this morning looking at how we are fully known and fully loved by Our Father before we start let’s pray one more time Lord thank you for this time to spend together Lord to dive into your word thank you for Lord the the safe birth of
Baby Galilee and bringing her into the world and uh Lord just such a time of Joy uh I think back to when my son was born it was just like being in a I don’t know being in a in a bubble of Otherworldly just joy and ecstasy and
What a what an incredible blessing Lord so thank you for that and thank you for this time and and we pray that you would bless it richly in Jesus amen so uh most of you know who I am uh you’re a little familiar with me if you
Don’t uh my name is Michael I’m one of about 16 Michaels here and uh one of three Michael bees there might be more so if it’s confusing I totally understand don’t worry about it but uh I get to be the the high school youth pastor here we made the split uh and
Transitioned um Junior High and high school we’re growing and so um Nathaniel and Abby are overseeing the junior high and uh myself and Sabrina get to oversee the high school and it is such a blessing we are enjoying it so much spending time um discipling mentoring
Teaching um going out and and having fun we just went roller skating uh a couple weeks ago and uh a couple months ago we went axe throwing which was awesome we had we’re throwing axes and if you haven’t done that I highly recommend it
Because it is a it’s a good time um it’s a good date you know date night and uh we also get get out some uh some tension you know some some builtup stuff that needs to be released on on those wooden boards and uh couple months ago we took
The high schoolers and we’re in there we’re throwing axes we got pizza and in the break between rounds of throwing we’re all arm wrestling and so I’m like arm wrestling all these high schoolers feeling so good about myself you know yeah I could beat 14-year-olds in arm
Wrestling right up until I couldn’t cuz we did a left arm one and uh that one didn’t go so well for me so God’s keeping me humble but um this is the greatest job getting to spend time um with the kids getting to know them and uh and just share some of our
Experiences and and dive into the Lord’s word together and and walk together in this walk of faith I have such a heart for them because when I was their age I was just always on the outskirts and I was really kind of wandering away from the Lord I was you know superficially
Involved with FCA uh Fellowship of Christian athletes and I would go every once in a while um but my heart wasn’t in it my heart was in the things that I wanted and uh I was all about me I had uh so to speak put God in my back pocket
He was like my insurance card and I said oh I’ll just pull them out if anything ever goes wrong and you know I’ll live life for me but I got my insurance which is such a shame I was just lying to myself God is Not insurance he is
Assurance we’re assured of our salvation and assured of the the hope we have in him through Jesus Christ and so my heart really for these kids is that they would continue to walk with the Lord and not have to wander into all of these dry places that God let me wander into but
He brought me back he was always with me you know he never left me or forsook me as he promised and uh he was just showing me that out in the world we will never find satisfaction we’ll never find Life we’ll never find um that belonging and that salvation that we so
Need I when I met Sabrina you know she just spoke so simply to me and she said as long as I have Jesus I’m good and when I heard Jesus it was like an arrow pierced me and the light went on and I thought I want to go back to my father
I’m hungry and I’m thirsty I want the bread of life and the living water again the Lord brought me back and so if I can just share some of that with the high schoolers and just minister to them um with the challenges of life and The Temptations of the world um then I’ll
Consider myself blessed and recently one of the things that I’ve been doing is memorizing scripture um I was reading in the scriptures about uh how we’re we’re told such as in job 23:12 job says I’ve not departed from the Commandment of his lips I have treasured the words of his
Mouth more than my necessary food Psalm 1911 says your word I have hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you these these scriptures really stirred me to be memorizing and and treasuring the word in my heart storing it up so that I wouldn’t be sinning against the Lord
That I wouldn’t be wandering from him and that I could effectively teach and counsel and advise the others to do the same and so I’ve been memorizing Psalm 139 it’s been such a blessing you know reciting it and uh whether I’m you know out driving or um
Doing chores taking a shower whatever it is it’s just good it’s so good um to be constantly speaking the words of the Lord and uh spending that time with him this this Psalm is really special um because it shows you know God’s incredible love for us as his children
And uh David speaks about the attributes of the Lord through his relationship with us and the way and that he sees us David talks about firstly his omniscience the all knowing character of God he talks about his omnipresence about how wherever we go the Lord is with
Us and he finally finishes with his omnipotence the power of God the all powerful nature of God and uh David exemplifies this in God’s creation of each and every single one of us and his forn knowledge of us David put it on paper but we know that
The Lord wrote it through him as each are inspired by the Holy Spirit to write down scripture because the Lord wants us to know how he feels about us Deuteronomy 6 6-7 says these words with these words which I command you today shall be in your heart you shall teach
Them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house when you walk by the way when you lie down and when you rise up so it encompasses everything like every moment of our life um we’re we’re encouraged and commanded to constantly
Have the words of the Lord in our heart and on our heart and apparently even while I was sleeping I was doing this because the other night Sabrina says I I sat up and I was giggling and uh that’s always a good sign and she says I sit up
And I go 50,000 miles into the future and then laid back down and went to sleep as she is as she’s just you know cackling there and uh if there’s any Joseph’s or or Daniels in the house then uh an interpretation would be awesome but this past Wednesday we were talking
About uh heaven with the the kids so maybe my my thoughts were in our future hope in our future home with the Lord in eternity so as we dive into uh our first verses here David is talking about how the Lord knows us how fully and
Completely he knows us he says here in verse one oh Lord you have searched me and known me you know my sitting down and my rising up you understand my thought a far off you comprehend my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all
All my ways for there is not a word on my tongue but behold oh Lord you know it altogether you have hedged me behind and before and laid your hand upon me such knowledge is too wonderful for me it is high I cannot attain it so in these first six verses David is
Talking about this this omniscience this all- knowing character of the Lord and how fully and completely he knows us this word that he uses for knowing is uh this idea of completeness or or totality we um scripture often uses this word um to describe the relationship between a
Man and woman Adam knew his wife Eve and she conceived and bore children it’s that very intimate um knowledge which amongst us is reserved for for men and women and yet God knows us even far greater than that you even our marriages are just Shadows of the relationship um
That God has with us in the way that he knows us when I started learning Hebrew a little while back they specifically cautioned you against if you’re going into Israel and you’re talking about your friends about not using this particular word because this is knowing in the biblical sense and people are
Going to look at you a little sideways there’s another word for that for a familiarity an acquaintance or a friend but God knows us completely and David uses this idea of contrasting um situations sitting down and rising up his path going out and lying down to talk about the fullness
And the completeness of God’s knowledge of each and every single one of us so on Friday I was driving down to Modesto because uh we have a a NorCal youth pastor’s uh group chat and there’s like 25 of us from kind of Central and Northern Central and Northern California
And uh I’m going down there during the morning commute and of course I’m seeing all the all the flavors of California driving that are out there you know there’s Rocky Road there’s lots of banana nut there’s there’s all kinds of things to see when you’re when you’re driving out
Here and and I was doing the same thing I was reciting my scriptures and you know everything’s moving so fast and yet I was just in this in this kind of place of peace with the Lord and I’m driving back up afterwards I’m coming up
99 and I see this person on my right hop off into an exit Lane but they’re going way too fast to be exiting the freeway they’re acceler ating they’re running out of space there’s like 50 yard left and and I can see as it happens they come across jump into the right lane
From the exit Lane all the way over into the left side just rapidly and then take off like a bullet and you know super dangerous using that using the lane that way and I’m sitting here going you’re an immensely blessed creature of God because there’s not a word on my tongue
But behold oh Lord you know it all together he’s like hey Michael I’m listening what you what you say is important I know you Michael I know your heart and so I got to surrender that to the Lord you know I’ve made some some risky moves myself but um it was it was
A great reminder and just a great teachable moment in these things there is not a word on our tongues the Lord knows us alog together and this phrase here in verse three when David says that the Lord he says you comprehend my path and my lying down and are acquainted
With all my ways this phrase here acquainted with all my ways I was really kind of marinating in that as I was thinking about how powerful it is that I’m utterly and completely familiar to God and this isn’t just like an acquaintance like we use someone that we
Have met briefly but he is well acquainted with each one of us we change and we grow and yet he’s always known us and he always will he’s known us forever before we were even born and um We have forever to get to know him cuz he’s so vast and uh
There’s there’s there’s just so much to learn about our God and this this acquaintance you know as he’s familiar with us I was thinking as we have this friendship and this relationship with God isn’t that what one of the things one of the main things that makes friendship so special
And a marriage so rich over time is that familiarity that you get with each other you know each other’s routines and habits um you you know whether the other is going to leave the milk out on the counter or not or whether the the clothes will go in the hamper or um in
My case whether I’ll I’ll forget even though Sabrina reminds me multiple times hey don’t forget to take that package we got to mail that thing off and it’s right there on the on the piano we we know each other you know we become so well acquainted we really meld together
I’ve heard it said that it takes takes 25 years for a marriage to really fully and completely cement together it’s a long and a slow process and uh this is the same type of relationship that the Lord wants to have with each one of us
As he knows us but he wants us to know him as well so he’s familiar with us he knows you know our habits and our mannerisms our our quirks the the inside jokes that only we find funny or you know maybe something between us and our
Spouses it made me think of this story with my dad uh years back we were going to Home Depot cuz he’s got this lazy boy that he’s fixed like 15 times and every time something goes wrong he’ll mcgyver it you know and like bring this thing back to life and something was something
Was wrong with the lever and we needed to go to Home Depot and get a a wooden dowel you know that he could chop off and and slide in here and and fix it up and all we could find was these like 3ft long pieces of wooden dowel and my dad’s
Hold this thing going I only need two inches of it where’s the shorter pieces I I only need two Ines of this dowel and he just kept on you know he’s like just grumbling and complaining I only need two inches and so I started kind of jabbing at him you know after he
Finished the project I I said hey Dad only needed about 2 Ines of that dowel you know he’s got like three jokes that he’ll say over over all the time and I think that thing is still in his garage most of the 3T still left you know it’s
Like one of his little quirks that he’ll just he’ll keep stuff around I think he did use part of it to fix the grill when the handle rusted off he used part of the dowel to make a new handle for the grill um but I so appreciate that about
Him that um you know he he take he takes care of things and and tries to make them last but every once in a while I’ll go hey Dad remember that dowel only needed about 2 in of it dumb stuff like that but it’s things that make us
Familiar and you know that we’re acquainted uh well acquainted with each other when uh when Sab and I got married I actually had uh a lazy boy of my own me and my cousin had gone in on it havies it was like 60 bucks at Goodwill
So he had it for a while and then gave it to me and I had it in storage and Sabrina and I we get married and we’re bringing stuff from Storage over to uh the apartment and she’s like angling to get rid of this this Lazy Boy she’s just
Trying figuring out how she can get this thing out of her life and uh it was you know it as navy blue and uh I I love that thing and i’ had only gotten to use it um a little bit but it reminds me of
My dad you know and so I was like really fighting for this thing and uh finally she caved and she saw the light and and she accepted it and Jonah has been nursed to sleep almost every night of his life in that thing um but I told
Sabrina if my dad doesn’t give up on a lazy boy then neither do [Laughter] I there’s a pun in there but but I’ll you know I’ll leave that for another time but the point is this is something that I love so much about my dad and I
Want to be like him but you know I want to be exactly like my heavenly dad and this relationship that we have with our parents or with our children is a shadow of this um perfect relationship we get to have with the Lord you know Zephaniah
3:17 says the Lord your God in your midst the mighty one will save he will rejoice over you with gladness he will quiet you with his love he will rejoice over you with singing I’ve been thinking about this verse so much this week that the god of
The universe the one who created me and formed me that he rejoices over me and sings over me that he takes such Delight in me each and every single one of us as his children experience this same thing that the Lord Delights in us and rejoices in
Us we are such Treasures to the Lord David Goes On to describe the omnipresence of God the attribute of God that he is everywhere that he’s always with us here in verse 7 David says where can I go from your spirit or where can I flee from your presence if I
Ascend into heaven you are there if I make my bed in hell behold you are there if I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea even there your hand shall lead me and your right hand shall hold me if I say
Surely the darkness shall fall on me even the night shall be light about me indeed the darkness shall not hide from you but the night shines as the day the darkness and the light are both alike to you and translations are interesting because um when he says if I make my bed
In hell behold you’re there we talk about hell as the Lake of Fire you know the the place of Eternal suffering and and judgment but the word here in Hebrew is shol the dwelling place of the Dead the belly of the Earth the place where all of the Saints before Jesus were
Waiting for him the place where he went down and took captivity captive and gave gifts to men and preached to the spirits who were in prison the place where the the rich man and Lazarus were separated by an impassible divide David is making the point once again with with contrasting ideas that
Even if I’m up in the highest Heavens or in the lowest lows of the earth I can’t escape from you Lord you’re there brothers and sisters I can tell you I don’t want to escape from him I’ve been running from him for a long time and he’s been running after me and uh
He’s always chasing us down and Desiring that we would come back to him so Deuteronomy 318 says the Lord he is the one who goes before you he will be with you he will not leave you nor forsake you do not fear nor be dismayed Moses is reminding the people
Before they go in the promised land that God has promised them that he’ll go before them that he’s delivering the land that he’s going to be with them and he’s going to fight for them Joshua will remind them as well in Joshua 1:9 about God’s abiding presence with the
People in Jonah 2 verse 2 Jonah’s in the belly of the big fish and he says I cried out to the Lord because of my Affliction and he answered me out of the belly of shol there it is I cried and you heard my voice he likened being in
That fish to being in the dwelling place of the Dead the Belly of the earth I imagine it was an incredibly dark and depressing place to be for those 3 days and yet God was with him in that fish even in the depths of the sea he still
Was with Jonah even though Jonah had been rebelling against the Lord and doing the opposite of what God had asked him to do God was still with him and heard him as soon as he prayed and cried out to him finally Paul when he’s writing to
Timothy in second Timothy 4 he says in verse 16 at his first defense that nobody stood with them and that everybody forsook him the persecution was ramping up in Rome and Nero was killing and murdering Christians all the time and uh many were afraid and and Paul says may it not be
Charged against them I don’t blame them it’s a terrifying time to be a Christian but he says but the Lord Lord stood with me and strengthened me even though everyone else had forsaken him and and did not stand with him and were afraid the Lord was right there with Paul never
Leaving him and never forsaking him the Lord is always with us verses 9 and 10 talking about the wings of the morning and dwelling in the uttermost parts of the sea even there your hand shall lead me and your right hand shall hold me it always reminds me
Of uh Sabrina’s grandfather cuz uh he was a Naval aviator he flew in in Vietnam in the A4 Skyhawks and they would do attack raids at night and uh they never knew if they were going to make it back to the ship flying night missions was terrifying and then once
You got back you had to land on the aircraft carrier in the darkness of night which he said you never get used to but one of his fellow aviators wrote a book called uh wings of the morning about um his experience his walk of Faith with God during that time and uh
Her grandfather wrote a book as well it’s called above average um Naval Aviation the hard way and he talks about his experience there um from his humble beginnings in in Minnesota as a farm boy and joining the Navy and um going out to Pensacola to train and that’s the area
That I grew up in out in Florida and he went on to become later in his career career he went on to become a test pilot and one of the aircraft that he had the privilege of testing was the famous F14 tomat that we see in the Top Gun movies
Made famous in the in the first movie and uh in that in that scene Maverick and goose are are flying and um one of the things that the test pilots are aiming to do is to test the limits of the aircraft and figure out how to
Recover it out of spins and stalls and engine flameouts so that they can train the aviators on uh how to handle you know unforeseen situations out there while they are in in combat or um whether they’re training and um in the movie we see Maverick and Goose send the
Plane into that unrecoverable flat spin and north of Grumman had said that it was impossible to send this aircraft into a spin like that but her grandfather is the the test pilot who inspired that scene he was testing the plane and he managed to send it into an
Unrecoverable flat spin and because of the the weight of the plane all being mostly in the engines he was just being slung around like on a slingshot and he was pressed against the um the controls and experiencing many times more the regular force of gravity on him um
Passing out going in and out of Consciousness multiple times he said he spun over 55 times before the plane uh ended up hitting the ground and he was trying to pull the the ejector seat but there’s one above them which he couldn’t reach cuz he was smashed
Forward and passing it passing out of Consciousness and there’s one between their legs which he couldn’t yank up on because once again the forces were so strong and about the third time he came to as he’s just spinning he he and his co-pilot he hears this
Voice that says pull up now or you are going to die and finally he musters the strength with the last bit that he has he Yanks up and he sees the plane drop out from underneath him and uh his his co-pilot lands over in the Chesapeake
Bay and his raft um deploys but my uh Sabrina’s grandfather was so tired from the ordeal that had he landed in the water he probably would have drowned but the Lord sent a little wind to drift him over to land so that they could recover him and he writes about it from a
Perspective of curiosity because he doesn’t really know what that voice was but we know what the voice was if you ascend into heaven the Lord is there he was speaking to him and he still has a plan for him even though he’s approaching 90 and there’s still
Questions about what was that you know the Lord’s never done with us the Lord is constantly working on us and and even into our final breath we still have that chance to confess and repent we still have that opportunity and he’s patient he’s longsuffering not willing that any should perish but that all
Should come to repentance so I I think about him often and I and I pray uh for him often it was interesting because in the debriefing they were looking at him like he was a ghost they said in the spin like that there’s no way the cockpit should have
Properly deployed normally it needs a few hundred miles per hour of air shoving that thing up to get it out of the way so that when they launch out they don’t hit the canopy and of course in the movie Maverick’s co-pilot Goose ends up going into the canopy but his
Co-pilot just barely managed to miss it and they said when they looked at his parachute there were rips and tears in some of the fabric I mean he was like just inches away and yet the Lord saved both of them years ago I was on a road trip and
Uh I just bought my first car and I was going to see my my friend down in Orlando and it was quite a long trip and I was starting to kind of drift in and out and uh it’s never a good thing when you’re behind the wheel and the you’re
On the freeway I I was like starting to realize that I was I was so sleepy I was drifting off and I looked ahead of me and I noticed something strange the brake lights off in the distance started to kind of look like angel wings and I
Thought well that’s that’s kind of weird at that time I wasn’t really walking with the Lord and and I just saw them kind of drift off over to the side like they were leading me and I hopped off the freeway and and got some rest and
You know I looking looking back at that I wasn’t fully aware of it at the time but I see that the Lord was with me and he was watching out for me and protecting ing me just like he was with Sabrina’s grandfather in that F14 even though I was wandering away
From him he had not forsaken me the Lord is always with us next David goes into describing the power of the Lord in our creation and the fact that he made us he created us David says here in verse 13 you for you formed my inward Parts you covered me in
My mother’s womb I will praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made marvelous are your works and that my soul knows very well my frame was not hidden from you when I was made in secret and skillfully rought in the lowest parts of the earth your eyes saw
My substance being yet unformed and in your book they all were written the days fashioned for me when as yet there were none of them how precious also are your thoughts to me oh God how great is the sum of them if I should count them they would
Be more in number than the sand when I awake I am still with you Ephesians 2:10 says that we are his workmanship ship created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them we’re his workmanship we’re his craftsmanship he put us together Adam by
Adam he formed Us in the womb he knew us before we were ever born he saw us a far off and that’s why David says you understand my thought a far off not that he’s looking at us from a distance but that far before we ever ever did exist he understood our
Thoughts and he already knew us David doesn’t have 3D ultrasound you know he doesn’t have modern modern Medical Science and Technology and yet he has such an insight into the sovereignty of God’s hand in our creation that in the womb he’s putting us together that we are skillfully wrought
I remember uh when when David’s son passed away he was fasting and the child was sick and then when they said that his baby had finally passed on he got up he washed he took a shower he ate some food and his servants are going what’s
Wrong with you when the child was alive you were fasting and now that the child has passed away now you’re eating and you’re drinking and you’re you’re showering and he go goes my child cannot come to me but I can go to him he recognizes and understands that the Lord
Created this child and that he had brought him into glory and that his child was waiting for him David knows that God put every piece of him together with intentionality and care this is why we are so adamant on the sanctity of life you know when God
Creates us he we read in Genesis chapter 1 that he creates Us in his own image let us make man in our image he forms Adam Out of the Dust and then breathes his life into him and he becomes a living being and so as he forms Adam and and
Creates him he owns him Adam belongs to him if you think about what artists do when when they when they paint a masterpiece they put their name down in the corner or when someone creates something that they’re proud of or a company they put their logo and their
Name on it it belongs to them it’s their property they’re proud of it David recognizes that the Lord created him and that he belongs to the Lord that he has laid all of his days out ahead of him the way I see it we all belong to
The Lord on account of him forming us and creating us and yet we sold ourselves into sin and slavery and so God came and bought us back again with his own blood sent his son Jesus and so I think he owns us twice over this is why Paul says in Romans
Chap 12 I beseech you therefore Brethren that you present your bodies a Living Sacrifice holy and acceptable able to God which is your reasonable service it’s so reasonable it’s double reasonable he made us and he bought us he says do you not know that your bodies are not your
Own they belong to the Lord I was I was looking at U my son Jonah and just kind of a struck for a moment the reality Sabrina and I were talking about Maring that he exists that he’s a real person you know two years ago uh he
Was just a hope and a desire in our hearts and now he’s a living breathing person and he’s got his own personality and he’s such a precious boy and um Sabrina last night was uh putting on the the service and worships going and he’s just doing this he’s right there in
Front of the TV I mean we didn’t like intentionally teach him that he just is has been observing you know and it’s like when worship starts his hands go up and last week we were playing worship music uh at home and he’s got his milk bottle and he just holds up his bottle
And he’s doing like this you know he’s just dancing to the Lord and and rejoicing in it and uh we were just a struck you know he is the he’s the living breathing proof of our love for one another that as the Lord brought us together now he has brought forth out of
Our love this son he’s the proof you know God to borrow from Luke as he writes in Acts God has given us so many infallible proofs of his love for us just like he’s given so many infallible proofs of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the
Dead that greatest proof of his love for us we find in 1 John 4:9 John says in this the love of God was manifested Ed toward us that God has sent his only begotten son into the world that we might live through him see the manifestation of God’s love
The proof of God’s love we see in his son Jesus Christ as he came and he walked Among Us and he lived among us that he turned none away but he healed everyone’s sickness and he casted out demons and made the lame walk again he made the blind sea he just held nothing
Back from us he’s the living breathing proof he’s our Living Hope of God’s thoughts towards us his presence with us his power in Salvation Paul writes in Romans 1 I’m not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ because it’s the power of God to save that’s the good news of the Gospel
We see in Jesus the love of the father for each of us and His glory as Christ has ascended to be with him on high and we see his desire for us to be with him as well before we read our last two verses um David’s thoughts turn to
His adversaries and those who had turned against him those who sought his life unjustly David says oh that you would slay the wicked oh God depart from me therefore you bloodthirsty men for they speak against you Lord wickedly your enemies take your name in vain do I not
Hate them oh Lord who hate you and do I not loathe those who rise up against you I hate them with perfect hatred I count them my enemies such passion from David he was known as a a bloody man you know a man of war the Lord when David desired
To build the tab the uh the temple for him he said no you won’t build it you’re a you’re a man of war you’re a warrior your son Solomon will build my temple for me but we in the age of Grace do not war against flesh and blood we war against
Those principalities and those rulers of Darkness the powers of the air those spiritual forces which resist the message of the gospel and they resist our desire to press into the Lord and to grow with him and to know him even as we are known the weapons of our Warfare are not
Carnal but they’re Mighty and God for the pulling down of strongholds and casting down every argument that exalts itself against the name of God finally David finishes with verse 23 and 24 he says search me oh God and know my heart try me and know my
Anxieties and see if there is any wicked way in me and Lead Me in the way Everlasting this searching the David requests of the Lord has this idea of a refining you know that the Goldsmith would be refining that gold in the fire and removing the impurities search me out
God let me not hold anything back from you that you would come in and know me and search me and Show Yourself Strong on my behalf because my enemies hate me and they want my destruction try me test me refine me Purify Me Lord know my anxieties do you have
Anxieties do you have things that you wrestle with that it’s hard to surrender to the Lord I do I got a whole lot of them it’s a daily daily surrendering to the Lord knowing that everything that he calls me to and the things that he
Desires for me to do are so beyond me you know pastoring these high school kids and mentoring and disciple discipling them and and feeding them the word it’s not humanly possible it’s only possible by the holy spirit that God has given me and I’m so desperate every single day for him to fill
Me to try me and know my anxieties and remove those things from me he finishes see if there’s any wicked way in me and Lead Me in the way Everlasting the way Everlasting has a name his name is Jesus and John 14 verses 2 and three Jesus is sitting
With his disciples and he says in my father’s house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you I’m going to prepare a place for you and if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you to myself
That where I am there you may be also I desire for you to be with me the father wants all of his children there with him in heaven and of course his disciples are confused about where he’s going Lord we don’t know the way we don’t know where
You’re going and we don’t know the way and Jesus is so good to remind them I am the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the father except by me as we press into the Lord and as we dive into scripture and and get to know him better
Better he will lead us in the way Everlasting he will lead us closer and closer to Jesus and I’m reminded of that old song that I love so much just a closer walk with thee you know daily walking close to thee let it be oh Lord
Let It Be I’m learning it on guitar and it’s like so powerful to just pray a simple prayer of Lord I I want to know you better I want to walk with you closer lead me in that way Everlasting show me more of Jesus I want to know you
Even as I am known and thank you God for loving me so much press into the Lord I encourage you to go deeper and to memorize and treasure these scriptures in your heart so that you can use them not just for fellowship with the Lord
But also as a sword when the enemy comes against us it’s living and it’s powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword let’s bow our heads and pray Lord thank you for your word I was reading that as you send you sent your disciples out the second time
You told them this time do take your sword with you they were soldiers on assignment just like us and we take our sword wherever we go your word I pray Lord that you would store it in our hearts that you would help us to
Know it and to spend time in it and to meditate in it day and night Lord whether we’re sitting down or rising up or going out or lying down would your words be ever on our lips Lord and would you magnify yourself in our hearts Lord we must decrease and you must
Increase because the life that we now live live Lord we live in you who loved us and gave himself for us Lord thank you again for the blessing of baby Galilee and her new life Lord we pray that you would just bless Nathaniel and Abby and the family as they rest
