First of all for a few weeks I was kind of I was battling with that pain and you know had a few injections and stuff in my spine but in the end we decided to just to do that surgery just to be safe and get it out of the way between myself
Lucas morz our assistant strength coach Christian revas our manual therapist and obviously Tommy Mulligan kind of directing everything you know we had our plan course of two weeks was he was walking he was doing some just basic light strengthening second phase is where we started kind of ramping him up a little
Bit more where we you know we used our underwater treadmill so we got them jogging moving there was more exercisers there was more reps more started adding resistance to it the other thing too that we started introducing to between that week 2 to four is incorporating his
Stretching in a in a core hip mobility program phase three it’s where he actually started to go on the ice and he was just doing some basic skating some real light just foot movements um in the crease and then again we started ramping up his office where he was running and
Doing more Mobility type stuff week six is where we could start introducing flexion and rotation once we got to that point we knew okay if he was still feeling great now we put him on the ice and then now so we get to phase four which is the Practice at that point it’s it’s when he is ready when he gets to that 8we Mark now if Andre feels he can you know do what he needs to do as a goalie then we release him to the National Hockey League I think the toughest aspect is
That even though you’re part of the team you’re not contributing I you can ask any player whether you’re a forward defenseman or even B his case he’s the backbone of our team for all the last8 years so when you’re not able to go out there and help your teammates win I
Think that’s the biggest challenge when you watch the boys playing out there and you’re just you know in the locker room or at home watching it on TV it’s not the greatest feeling and you know you’re trying to get back on the ass as soon as
Possible just to help your team you know to succeed and you know we kind of feel guilty a little bit for that that you’re not there but you know sometimes you have to just trust your process and have to listen to your body and to your
