Into a marathon skating there is many Marathon around the world and especially one famous one in Berlin so in this video we will give you some different tips about what skills you need to develop what kind of training you need to do and what kind of skate uh you need
To use so for this first video we will focus on the different category of skates and which one which time you can expect with different skate normally when we race uh it’s like an event with a direct opposition so we are directly racing against our friends against all
The skaters uh but uh this ranking by place is very important usually for the skater who are competing in the a group for example in Berlin but most of the goals for many scater is to get and to achieve a great time and to beat uh basically uh the best personal time you
Can do and actually the selection of the skate is super important for this so we have different categories the first category of skate called the fitness skate and usually if you are racing more than two hours event you probably are using a skate with four wheels with a
Small diameters of wheels and with a a shorter frame and with a boot that is very comfortable and those kind of scate we call them Fitness skate if you are around a time of 2 hours to 1 hour 40 probably uh you are using a skate that
Is still a fitness skate but maybe you start to use bigger Wheels like 90 mm maybe three times 100 mm or even 3 times 110 mm and with this kind of skate I mean you will get comfortable of course because the boot is super comfy but uh
You are you will probably also lose some kind of precision in your Technique you will probably also lose some quality in the push so you can expect time till 1 hour 40 on this kind of skate if you want to improve your time if you want to
Train little more and go with sometimes around 1 hour 40 to 1 hour 20 we recommend some skate that are called power skating it’s basically still uh a fitness boot style but uh with a little more Precision in it but we here we change all the rolling part you will get
Probably a longer frame like on the stream model it’s a three times on 125 so the wheels get also bigger and the fact that the frame is longer and that the wheels are bigger you will have more roll and you will have more feeling for your push during all the event so with
This kind of skate uh it’s possible to achieve time between 1 hour 40 1 hour 20 under 1 hour 20 it start to be difficult even with the power skating uh products uh in this kind of category you will find uh skates like the the PS trim uh
You will find skate like the rise also and the arise is basically also coming with a carbon shell which is very specific to the third category of skate that I’m showing you today is the speed skate speed skate is made with a carbon shell but also with a low cut so uh they
Also come with longer frame usually with 3 * 125 or 3 * 1110 and they are different category for skater who probably go under 1 hour 20 till sometimes amazing like what bad is doing 56 minute in bin in the category of skate Fitness and po skating usually
It’s skates who have a cuff because uh in this kind of level it the skates helps you to have more stability around the ankle so the cuff will give you more support and you will have more to focus on your push and less to worry about your stability because the the skates
Are really helping you to do the job when you go into the ategory of speed skates which have the low cut there is usually no more cuff and uh you have to make the effort to learn how to get this stability with your uncle uh on the shoes so it’s different concept make

Hour 40 1 hour 20 you will still get this uh soft boot style you will start to get some carbon shell also but you have also a longer frame bigger wheel and under 1 hour 20 probably you have skater you need to use a skate which have low cut full carbon and longer Frames really important to start uh marathon is to be sure uh if you really have high goals select your weapon select your skate very good because it influence a lot the time that you can do the material is basically super important and between the people who will make 2
Hour 30 to 1 hour 40 they will probably have kind of the same skates but the wheels will have a big difference also so there is also different quality of Wheels if you use Fitness Wheels with a shr compound for example uh it’s good to start it will be
Comfortable but it will also be slower and if you have the same Fitness gate but you put some super racing wheels like the tltf uh you will have easily I would say a gain of 20 30 minutes almost on your time so the skates the wheels are a very important
