And destinations aren’t the only changes coming to mcgee Tyson airport. The art gallery for passengers is getting a refresh and you can be part of it. Our blunt county reporter Libby Cunningham explains how having work featured in the arts in the airport exhibit helps local artists
Slices of East Tennessee that greet people visiting or coming home to our region. Arts in the airport has been around for more than 15 years and you have until March 10 to submit your work. Knoxville Arts Alliance Executive director Lisa Zenni says winners will see the new gallery up soon.
Looking at the end of April Chloe Wack, a University of Tennessee graduate art student has seen her work in two airport shows. She says the gallery shows snapshots of her life intertwined with her passion for print making. She’s sold some prints to passengers too
And says it’s exciting to see her work when she’s traveling. The two times she’s been in the gallery are personal, the prince that was actually based on a baby photo of my partner Nick, um which he thought was kind of funny to have in the airport.
