D D D D All right hello everybody Welcome to after further review I am your host Steve Tower and tonight we are bringing roller Rumble back onto the tabletop uh after uh quite a bit of a Hiatus uh and uh I I have to give credit where credit is due uh there is a fantastic new
Series uh that has gone up on YouTube uh the the channel name I just put it in the uh in the chat room it’s sports flicks uh and it is uh a fantastic uh series um a lot of uh uh great uh artwork done by uh the designer of that
Channel um uh is uh Brent Dart who runs that channel uh he custom customiz his own cards for the players um using the AI for all the players uh looks really really great uh and also has in the bottom of corner has some uh archival footage of um of actual roller derby
Games so that is a fantastic watch please do check that out uh give a subscribe uh to that channel uh BR is doing great work over there uh and uh got me to uh to dig out my roller Rumble and get it back onto the table so uh here we go go
Um I have the game all set up um the teams that I am using uh Boston and Baltimore uh they actually I they might currently not be available um th this was the bonus teams uh that came with the set and I believe that right now uh
They are only available as a PDF uh so there’s a link uh to the roller Rumble site on play now um and it does look like right now the uh bonus skaters are only available um as a PDF so the two teams that I’m using um you can pick up
On your own um but uh just note that they are only available currently um as a PDF uh so with that out of the way let’s get some roller Rumble action going uh so uh the uh the game is broken up into eight periods um but we are
Going to start in Period number five uh and we are going to join the game in progress uh and how we do that is we use this halftime score generator uh a really fun uh thing to use here uh that also simulates uh what actually happened
In real life uh when this was on TV in the’ 60s and70s they joined the game uh at the half so simply all we’re going to do uh is we’re going to roll twice for each team we’ll roll for the home Boston Squad first uh reading the red white in
Order so it’s a 62 oh that’s going to be good they’re going to score 19 points there in the first half and for the visiting Baltimore roller Birds oo and they’re only going to have 11 so that is where we are going to start oh and then um you can also
Roll for a highlight of the first half so why not we will roll for that let’s see we got a 13 um o and a it says a men’s skater ejected all right um what we’re going to do is when the men come out um we will
Find out which skater and he’s actually going to start with a warning uh that’s one of the optional rules um that you can use so that your star players don’t get kicked out too soon uh so uh we have a fast action deck uh you divide it in
Half and we’ll set one half off to the side uh and the um the periods alternate between the men’s and the women’s so the women are going to start first here um we’ll play through um once we go through the full deck that’ll be the end of the
Fifth period uh the men will come on we’ll use the other half then we’ll Shuffle the cards together separate them again and play out the periods seven and eight um and that will be our game uh if you are familiar with other play games uh it uh is a um a
Characteristic driven game uh so you’ll see all the players um have different characteristics on their cards um and these will um come into play um through the fast action cards uh if a player has a starred quality that means that they Excel uh at that quality and they will
Win a tiebreaker uh over their opponent so for instance uh here our starting blocker uh Lisa Big O O Berg for Boston uh has the smart quality but it is starred uh and for Baltimore Ellen Ruby Resnik uh also has a smart quality but is not starred so if um if a smart
Challenge is called for the blockers uh in box one uh the Big O will will win the tiebreaker between those two uh and uh really that is all the Preamble that we need so um break out your break out your green screen cups here I didn’t think that through I thought
That maybe cuz my cup is a little bit uh darker than my my wall is that we’d be able to see it but alas live TV all right so here we go uh we’ll flip over the first card and we will get underway here period five between Boston and
Baltimore all right uh so uh flip over the card first thing we’re going to look at is the skate um that’s the majority of the time you’ll be looking at the um at that skate uh unless you go to a different action uh so this is the same
Star skater in one or two uh and that is the Big O she is our only star uh between those four players Dazzle opponent with expert skating uh and then anytime you see those uh double arrows there that means that that team will advance one so there we go Boston um
With an early lead here on the track uh quickly I’ll mention about the track uh once you move up to the jam space uh the team that lands on that first has the option to choose to jam uh that is how you score points um however
Uh there is a chance that the opponents will also be able to score points um however they can choose to um to continue playing and try to get to a power Jam if they Advance one more spot then they’ll be able to flip over a card
And on a power Jam only the team that reaches that um is able to score however um they might get stuck there um and meanwhile the other team can continue to try to advance so uh Boston out to an early lead here on the track uh and here
We go big skater uh in one or two keeps opponents out of position well this time Ruby is going to win uh the the battle as she has the uh big quality St whereas the Big O uh is just big so Baltimore pulls up even up the next card fast
Gator and one uh there are no fast Gators are are big blockers are in one there so anytime that comes up uh if neither skater uh has the qualities I just simply consider it a jostling for position nothing happens next one agile skater in one oh boy it’s uh fast and
Agile are not usually things that you find for your blocker so again nothing will happen going to the next card cheat and five uh so right now none of the players um here have the cheat quality uh once we get the men out I believe there are a couple men who have the
Cheat quality but uh nobody uh is a a villain right now so again we will skip that go to the next card a smart skater in two uh that is going to be Christy weirman for Baltimore shouts out instructions to the Jammer who finds room on the outside so now
Baltimore uh on the verge of getting a jam opportunity let’s see a smart skater in three well Diane fast lane Dane uh who is one of the biggest stars here in roller America uh she is also a very smart player and evens things up who is going to get the first Jam
Opportunity uh let’s see a mean skater in one um surprisingly neither the Big O or Ruby are mean so nothing happening there continuing to JN agile skater in four uh that is going to go to Jenny Jerome who has the starred agile quality and we have our first Jam
Opportunity and Boston is going to take it so we’ll flip the card over we will look at the jam results and unfortunately for Boston uh it is no points so no points on the initial jam now we’re going to look in parenthesis uh and now this is
Open to all of the Jammers uh in four and five between both teams a fast Jammer speeds past three Defenders before being stopped for three points so uh it looks like it is going to go to Boston uh as Baltimore does not have a fast Jammer uh so we’ll give it to Jenny
Jerome who will get three points for Boston on the jam after a uh Jam is scored or even if no points are scored on the jam uh reset the uh momentum track for the teams uh and then you start over fresh all right uh and we’ll pause in this

Out uh during the offseason I’m I’m waiting until the draft that’s when I uh and Pops reviews joins us uh here all right uh here we go as we’ll start back up the action uh and we will get our first substitution uh so anytime that happens
You’ll just flip over the next card uh and it’ll tell you which skater it is uh oh and unfortunately it is the um uh the pivot player for Baltimore who has to get substituted out and let’s see do they have um oh Unfortunately they do not have a pivot
On the bench uh they took a chance having uh their they players that also had the pivot rating in other positions um but it’s not going to really hurt them so if a player ever finds himself in a position uh that is not listed on their card uh
The only um downfall is that any starred qualities they lose uh the star on it and so Shannon Shay here is going to go into the pivot position um and she does not um have any starred qualities so um no harm no foul and actually now that I’m thinking about it maybe
They should take this chance and put in somebody who has a quality that fast lane does not have um as she has both agile and Powerful let’s see um why don’t they yeah let’s CU they’re not going to win uh the TV um battle uh
Over fast lane uh who is one of the biggest stars so they’re going to put in June Jameson um who is generally a blocker um and is a big skater also with a start smart so actually she’s going to tie fast lane if a smart quality comes up all right so here we
Go uh let’s see agile skater in three well that is going to go to Fast Lane who will get her team rolling let’s see fired up skater star skater in one and that is the Big O and the Shamrocks cruising here oh and we’re going to have
Our first action so when that comes up we flip the next card and then look at the action home team surges around the track uh so they’re going to play strategically here and they’re going to try to go for the Power Jam see as that Baltimore is all the way back here all
Right uh let’s see home team switches Jammer uh from skaters on the track all right so uh that means that um we have to swap out one of our jamers so I think we um we will just swap Todd and Jerome uh so now Julie Todd will be in
The main Jammer position for a little while and now we’re going to have action uh home team surges around the track and here we go a Power Jam opportunity for Boston Jammer weaves past the entire opposing defense making players Miss for five points and Boston takes a commanding
27-1 lead the Boston women uh doing some damage here in the fifth period all right will’ll we reset and back to the action smart skater in three uh that is going to be our first tiebreaker here as they both have the starred smart quality and let me just check really
Quick I believe that the tie breaker is going to go oh yeah it goes to the trailing team in that case so uh that is June Jameson uh who’s going to out duel fast lane there trying to get her team uh to get some points on the board let’s
See home skaters in one or two uh deliver series of effective body blow so the Big O and Estrella Valdez working over their opponents powerful skater in one uh so the Big O and Ruby both powerful so we’ll have a tiebreaker again trailing team and Baltimore on the verge of a
Jam agile gor in two Valdez has the start agile quality over weirman so uses moves improves position for the jam uh no cheaters on the track as we are starting to wind down period five and we’re going to have some action here action home team surges around the track
It’ll be another Jam opportunity and they’re going to take it oh and no points on the initial Jam but a mean skater in one or two and no mean skaters in one or two so no points on that jam powerful skater in four that is going to be Martha Mackey Hees opposing
Skaters uh oh boy so Hees Todd into Valdez in Fast Lane and Baltimore out to the early uh Advantage here as we restart let’s see no mean skaters in three star skater in four uh Julie Todd is a star uh embarasses Macky Macky out a position

Action uh let’s see skaters in one and three jostel for position and hard-hitting lap uh and this is a TV so the fast lane going to give them the advantage and this is probably going to do it let’s see agile skater in four uh that’s tied between McKay and

Team and now we will get the men for Baltimore onto the track and for Baltimore it is Ed the monster Mcgill and Jean stick Taylor the blockers Gary Brewer is the pivot man and Dan toots Delio and Ernie deini are the Jammers for the roller birds all
Right so uh we can get right into the action here in Period six so so uh Boston with a commanding 27-1 lead but uh is a lead ever safe en roll or Rumble let’s see uh well here we go we do have um a uh a player with a Jeep
Quality uh Elbert kovak for Boston uh let’s see he’s going to trip his opponents causing a pile up on the track and the Boston men take the early Advantage uh big skater in one uh well that is a tie so mean and the monster Migel both have the
Starred big quality so again our tiebreaker will be the trailing team and the monster knocks me Eugene down to the floor action coming up let’s see skaters in five get tangled up one spins over the rail and into the crowd uh and that is going to be uh Ernie uh
Deini uh gets spilled over the rail by Mickey Walker and Boston in position for a j uh substitute we’re going to skip the substitutes uh here in the first half of the deck just a little house rule I have go right to the next card let’s see
Powerful Jammer in five uh that is going to be Mickey walker uh who is going to outmuscle his opponent and Boston with a jam opportunity uh let’s see yeah I guess they might as well take it uh let’s see and it’ll be one point on the initial Jam
For the fabulous one Dan Van Meter uh the follow-up Jam a star jammer finishes off key Defender ow and for a power Jam uh and that is the fabulous one who is a a starred star so Boston with a chance for a power Jam uh and they will get an
Additional two points some great skating by The Fabulous one he gets around the track uh and gets a a couple extra points on the jam opportunity and Boston now in front 30 to1 Action starts back up uh let’s see no big Jammers in five reved up star in
Two uh no stars in the two position body Blow from oh boy so that’s going to be the monster who’s going to win the tiebreaker as he again gets the better of mean Eugene and Baltimore out in front oh and a penalty called uh let’s see and it’s a
Penalty uh on uh the stick Taylor all right so I am going to put a chip on him uh if he gets another penalty then um he will be or no sorry penalty is not um an ejection so penalty comes up what that means is they are going to be skating
Shorthanded uh for the next five cards um if um if anything comes up in the number two spot then kovak will obviously win um the the challenge uh and if a mean one comes up uh it’ll automatically create a Power Jam because he has the start quality there all right so
Boston on the power play here and oh I saw mean but mean in three uh nobody is a mean skater in three uh powerful uh that is going to be Mickey Walker goes ahead uh let’s see a fast skater in two uh yes that is kovak who will move ahead uh fast skater
In four uh that is the fabulous Dan Van Meter goes up to a jam uh and in a short-handed any Jam is automatically a power jam and that’ll be three more points as the penalty comes to a close and a costly one for Baltimore it’s now 33- 11 all Shamrocks here so
Far um as the stick will come out of the Penalty Box action restarts powerful skater in three uh that is the king who is the a starred powerful uh will power uh levels three opponents three roller bird go down Austin out to the early Advantage here as action comes back up uh let’s

Daye gets them out in front early another action coming up let’s see a mean skater in four no mean skaters uh more action coming our way home team hustles around the track Boston is feeling it the Shamrock fans letting them hear it uh let’s see as Estella Valdez embarrasses are out of
Position uh opponents and Boston’s going to go for the Power Jam they’re going to keep going powerful skater in one uh no powerful oh whoops I have my I have my Jammers and blockers in the wrong in the wrong spot there we go all right that’s better
Uh let’s see now we have a powerful skater um as a it’s a Valdez who will get her team into a power jam and let’s see Jammer sweeps past the posing skaters and jams again oh boy so that means it’s five points for Jerome and around the track again oh but that
Time the Defenders managed to stop the jam cold no points all right so she does get five points on the initial Jam three four and five and that’ll reset the action and oh my Boston with a uh commanding 30-point lead here in the seventh uh let’s see restarting the action agile
Skater in four uh that is a tie uh so we’ll give it to the trailing team uh as gig Kelly gets her team out in front early here agile skater in five uh another tie so Martha Mackey will win that tie Baltimore trying to keep something going
Here um no big pivot Players let’s see uh we do have some big Jammers though or blockers rather that’s Christy weirman puts her team in position and now Baltimore is going to try for a power Jam uh let’s see no cheat skaters so nothing happening there uh and the

Track let’s see fast skater in four four that is going to be Jenny Jerome Boston back out in front uh a big Jammer in five and indeed we do have a big jammer for Baltimore Martha Mackey uh and Baltimore looking to get a jam going uh and they will as Ruby
Resnik uh Knox Valdez and fast lane to the floor uh and they are going oh boy they’re going to try to get a power Jam going let’s see uh and oh and it’s going to backfire on them uh as Valdez is a star in two
And they will move up and I believe then that gives um that gives Boston a Power Jam um let’s see uh if this happens the opponent gets the option to jam instead oh okay yeah uh the opponent do Um okay so oh so it’s not a Power Jam but um but Boston will decide uh to go for the jam uh oh and it’s going to work out for Baltimore no points on the initial jam and then a powerful Jammer uh which is going to be Martha Mackey um
Will get two points on the followup Jam so in the end Baltimore does get points uh and closes the the Gap if you will um uh to 4219 and the skating starts back up uh and Estella Valdez tosses Christy weirman to the side and boy oh boy Boston proving to be
A little bit too much here for Baltimore tonight uh smart skater in two well weirman back on her feet uh and moves her team up and we’re going to have another highight reel uh let’s see 22 on the Highlight Reel chart fight breaks out in the infield Arena stopping play skater and
Opponent sent to Penalty Box all right so we’ll reset the momentum track uh let’s see oh it’s going to be the pivot player so uh so Diane Lane and Debbie O’Hara sent to the Penalty Box so we’ll have a four on four uh for the remainder of the period
Period as we start back up um and right away it’s a check for three so nothing happening there uh let’s see smart skater in four that’s going to be Jenny Jerome who will move up and the end of the period um we’ll see Valdez move up but not enough to get the
Jam and the end of the seventh period Baltimore got a few points but not nearly enough it is 4 42-9 um as we head to the eighth and final period the men about to come back out on the track and the Baltimore men will have their work cut out for
Them as uh they’ll need to score a lot and then somehow slow down uh the scoring of Boston all right let’s see what happens all right in away we go um and a substitute um right up front um well I guess since I skipped it in
The six or the uh six period I’ll I’ll do it here let’s see visiting skater in five uh so that is Eddie uh de berini needs to come out uh let’s see um we’ll bring in Irv bum Young Who uh has the starred fast quality so he’ll be able to uh beat
Mickey Walker and also with agile since they’re trailing he’ll win the tie on that he will lose on TV grade uh a couple other qualities but all right here we go cheat and four no cheaters there the only cheater we have right now is Elbert kovak
Agile in three so the pivot players um neither of them are agile surprisingly continuing along star skater and war or two uh yes that’s going to be the monster who will win the tiebreaker so he’s going to Dazzle his opponents uh as the big guy does some expert skating to get his
Team out in front here uh let’s see smart skater in three uh yes both St smart so time will go to the trailing team and here comes B Baltimore um they oh no uh Van Meter has starred fast so he will win the tiebreaker there holding off the jam for
Now no mean skaters in four powerful that is going to go to the king and Boston has caught right up both teams on the verge of a jam uh and it’s going to be the king who sends his team over over uh let’s see no Boston will try for
The Power Jam they’ll keep going and oh and it works as kovak gets the cheat quality here uh as he will trip up stick and Boston indeed does get the chance for a power jam and the fabulous vanen meter will get three more points on the board
For Boston oh my goodness a Boston Massacre in process here we will start back up uh and kovak his cheating ways continue uh and the whole crowd loving that some more action on the way uh let’s see skaters in five get tangled and that’s going to be Mickey
Walker uh who will throw bum over the railing and another substitute coming up uh let’s see Gary Brewer needs to come out uh and we will we’ll have rolling substitutions so Ernie we’ll come back in uh let’s see a smart skater into uh nobody smart there in the big

Uh turning around to celebrate with the crowd and suddenly finds himself doused with the water from the water cooler play stopped uh we’ll reset the momentum chart and play continues let’s see agile in one nobody agile in the blocker uh let’s see home skaters so mean Eugene and kovak with some effective body

Eugene uh who blindsides the monster and Boston right back into action uh and oh but the monster going to fight right back as he’s going to send mean Eugene flying on the track mean Eugene trying to get back up on his feet here’s some action um uh skaters
