Okay okay I started another live stream and I was like why is nobody here right now oh my God that was embarrassing okay that was another live stream but I think this is the right one now I believe okay yeah anyways what I was talking about was the fact that I
Just started I just did the orientation for lonely octopus so the new cohort that is starting so that was super exciting um and now we’re going to talk about Nvidia GTC which is also super exciting there’s so much that happened and yeah I want to talk to you guys about everything that
Happened how’s everyone doing first of all oh yes and then I also pinned the comment um you can sign up in the mailing list to get weekly emails about the any company workbook that we have summaries and then notific for future and lunch and learns you can also add
The calendar if you want it’s completely free so you can do that if you want to up to you all right hey ya how’s it going I got some things fixed in my car finally oh nice replace suspension and drive sh I have no idea what that means
But I assume that’s a good thing I’m going to try roller blading today too yo I’ve been thinking about that too I’ve been watching people rollerblade a lot I was really into roller skating for a while like two years ago um but I kind of want to do rollerblading recently it
Looks it looks very fun um yes hey Nano hello Eden hello everybody I know Jensen Juan buy Invidia stock now probably wait until it’s a little bit down before buying more not Financial but I wish I bought more Nvidia stock previously I have a friend who works at
Nvidia um he started like 3 years ago and I was like oh my god dude you’re almost ready to retire good thing you didn’t leave that company um I am thoroughly oriented well hello thanks for everything I’ve been learning about to launch my startup oo nice what’s your startup about hello Ibrahim hello
Everybody okay I think let us get started cuz there’s just a lot happening okay first question is there anybody that joined GTC that either like live streamed watched the live streams uh or went in person so I am so honored that Nvidia actually invited me in person to
Go to GTC um which was in San Jose so it’s about like an hour and a halfish from San Francisco um so yeah I I went and I was like holy there was just a lot and in person it was like really really crazy but everything is streamed I believe so you
Can check that out if you want um but yeah I appreciate them inviting me over to go look at it hello it’s midnight thank you for coming okay okay let’s let’s just get started there there’s just like a lot okay so I made like this really quick
Slide deck and if you haven’t checked out any of the nid stuff I highly recommend that you do um later I would just say if you’re you should just look at the keynote at the very minimum there’s also lot of other cool things that are going on but just the keynote
Itself is like kind of crazy okay so I like there’s like four things that he talked about mostly um during the keynote the first one is the Blackwell chip which is like Hopper was the one from previously um yeah like they pretty much like joined two trips together and now
It’s the twice the size and it was just like a huge breakthrough in compute um so it says here like 128 billion more transistors five times the AI performance four times the on die memory um yeah so it’s like two and a half times apparently the training the training performance of an nvidia’s
Previous chip which is just insane like this is yeah like what I guess like maybe in reference about how insane this is think about the fact that GPT 5 is allegedly able to be trained in like a month not like the years that we had seen previously to train these so expect to
See like really really big models that are being trained with like a lot more tokens um just like a lot that’s going to be going on and then the context windows and stuff probably going to increase as well so instead of having to do like a lot of like Rag and things
Right now like that people cope with having not that much of a context window uh which is basically like you have a database where the model is able to draw information from because it doesn’t have like all the context that it needs I think a lot of this is going to go away
Because this is just like a massive lead forward I think what’s really special about Nvidia as a company is the fact that they don’t like they’re not in the business of like how do I say like doing things like Building Products on top of things right like kind of open AI is in
The business of that they would have GPT 4 but then they would also build things like GPT store and like things like that from like a in terms of building products on top of it but Nvidia has stated very clearly that it does not intend to do that so they’re
Truly a company that’s building the foundations to power AI in the future so yeah this was like the first thing that was absolutely crazy I don’t know if anybody has any thoughts oops my face was in the way I apologize um but yeah does anybody have any thoughts about Blackwell um
Yeah like what do you think this will enable this this would enable in the future like in my opinion just the very obvious one would just be you know be able to have bigger models be able to do things more fast being able to train things more quickly uh be able just to
Do a lot more than things we’re capable of like it’s like it’s like a true breakthrough not just like an incremental increase what do you guys think for gaming yeah I guess for gaming a lot of like 3D BAS stuff as well um they were actually talking about some of the like
Using like 3D based model so you’re able to make 3D videos and things like that as well will there be a vlog about this I don’t usually do vlogs I do videos and live streams yeah but I mean if you mean video and live streams my most recent
Video that just came out I do talk about in video as well which I think oh no no sorry that video didn’t come out yet it’s the video after that that’s going to come out is going to talk about this stuff um you earned that thank you I was just
Like very flattered I’m like oh my God you actually want me to come hello I am here hello here I am thata when will we reach AGI I don’t know know do you guys like follow David Shapiro in particular I think he has like a lot of predictions that he’s
Basically saying we’ll reach AI by this year I don’t particularly have commentary about that I mean he says it’s going to happen this year I don’t know we’ll see we’ll see I think a lot of it is like if you actually look at open ai’s definition of what AI is it’s
Kind of like a slippery slope like what in the world is defined as true general intelligence right so I don’t know depending on the definition of it like maybe it will happen this year but depending on other definitions maybe not um there was a lot of hints with
Open AI as well I started hinting about having more agents so if you guys have heard about Devon which I talked about last week like certain that’s like one of the first like software engineering agents and allegedly they’re doing a lot of developments of like specific agents that Encompass certain roles like
Marketing agent software engineer data scientist agent like things like that so I think that will be very interesting they’re kind of like talking about it in the sense of like oh like it’s going to be like a co-pilot it’s going to be able to do certain things um I think it’s
Going to be very interesting I have like a bunch of commentary but I’m not going to go into that because it’s not about that right now yes the chip could help Dev Consciousness I don’t know I guess that would be AGI wouldn’t it I saw your new
Video superb oh I thank you love your cond from Northern California Mantica well thank you so much you glowing more faster than AI I’m growing or I’m glowing glowing or growing I’ll enable personal on board LM training to amateurs all right let’s talk about the next thing um so this is really
Interesting so this is something that I believe they’ve been working on for a while now but it’s a lot more realized than it was before so these are called Nims um and I have like I can’t I never can remember the exact name of what it
Is I have it written which is NVIDIA inference microservices so what this means is like previously if a developer wants to build an AI app you have to do like certain things right you have to have the model you have to get the model you need to have like domain information you have
The data you need to have like a database that’s available you got to do some aine who need some brag like blah blah blah like a lot of things like that there are some like no Code and low code tools that are available these days but
It’s still like if you really want to build a proper AI application um you still really need to go do things like like kind of string things together right and do a lot of these things and if you don’t know how to do it then you
Would not be able to do most of this however what Nims are is that these are like pre-built AI microservices so you can think about it like you have an AI tool that you want to build and then it’s pretty much like plug andplay right you for example like
Say you’re like a I don’t know like healthcare cancer research company and you have a lot of like cancer research data that you have and you want to build an AI application maybe to figure out like what’s a good small molecule drug in order to Target certain cancers depending on their genetic information
Right like something like that and you have a lot of genetic information you have a lot of outcomes from patients you have a lot of drugs that they’re being used so instead of having to like spend a lot of effort and money into building this entire AI app from scratch what you
Can do now is that you can employ a n where it’s able to customize like C you can build custom AIS which they call co-pilots where essentially like you know co-pilots are things that are able to help you out you know within the AI application that is specific to that
Domain and data that you currently have to do the things that you want to be doing um this also like solves the issue of like privacy and things like that because you’re actually building your own AI application and they’re designed to be easily used across a bunch of different software program platforms
Platforms so you’re able to build any AI application deploy it anywhere with any domain at least that’s what they claim so all these are inclosed beta right now but that’s what they claim I mean Nvidia as a company I feel like they’re a lot better at not promising things that they
Don’t actually do historically speaking like you get companies like opening ey they like say certain things or whatever or like you know Google say certain things and then not be able to keep their promise I feel like Nvidia is one of the companies that are a lot better
Of actually keeping the promises that they do say that they’re going to do so um of all companies I would not doubt as much that this is going to happen like maybe it needs to be tweaked from the very beginning but who knows like maybe um it’s something that
They’ll have available for like 80% of things and they’re just going to slowly increase and increase um I actually have a video coming out about is prompt engineering the new coding and I’ll like leave that in suspense right now but I do have like some opinions because
Really what this does is that you’re able to not have to like you’re a you need to understand the architecture of how these things work I you need to focus a lot more on the human aspect of things but in terms of actually building stuff out the like assuming that you
Know what it is that you want to build and the parameters and the requirements which is still very very important the building of this thing is becoming so much more it’s it’s going to be a lot easier and it’s also going to enable a lot of companies who may not necessarily
Be tech companies who don’t have these resources to be able to use these and come up with really cool AI apps so like yeah like people are going to be able to do this a lot easier now so I think this is pretty I think this is going to be
Really really interesting it’s really going to democratize the ability of building AI apps yeah and I also believe that this is going to be a lot better than the no code low code tool tools that are available today what are your thoughts about this it would also accelerate scientific
Real absolutely you know there was a talk that he did a while back in which people um there’s this guy I forget like there was like some education for him that he was and somebody asked him the question like oh what do you think people should learn in the future and he
Was saying one of the really important things to learn is in the human Sciences we’re just scientific research because it’s a very complex problem and AI can do a lot in order to solve scientific research but what he said was interesting like right now what the way
That we talk about science is like um life sciences right where he talks about um we talk about like drug Discovery and he’s saying instead of seeing it as in a science and a discovery where you’re essentially like walking around trying to like figure out things and you just
Try to like discover new things and you’re scientific try to derive new things um what that’s going to become is life engineering and like drug engineering because it no longer will be a discovery and a science problem it’s going to be more of an engineering problem since if you have the data
That’s available it just becomes like how do you use these tools in order to solve the problem that you have so yeah I thought I thought that was really really really interesting hi Tina hello hi everyone prosper from chitipa rule very remote Malawi just trying to
Use AI to Better Lives of my people hello I think like education is one of those spaces that is going to be dramatically transformed by these Technologies it’s like even now right with cha gbt with these new tools that are here it’s already like really changed things because people who
Normally wouldn’t have access to education to certain parts of our education to the best courses the best teachers now they’re able to have this now right like they’re able to learn all the things that they want to learn and it just democratizes education so much
And I think like a lot of work that’s being done right now is going to be focused on providing people who may not have the resources right now who may not have like drugs like medicine and education and they’ll be able to now which I think is very very
Exciting uh there’s a lot of work as well to be done for anybody who’s like super concerned about the number of jobs at least in recent years I really just think more like all these companies like all of this is really Tools in order to enable people to build the things that
They want to build so I genuinely think everybody should learn how to use these tools either in order to just just help integrate your own like domain um or like kind of just become someone who is able to help other companies other domains integrate AI into their
Businesses be able to build AI apps there’s a lot of opportunities I think um within within pretty much all domains to do that hi China is doing unbelievably well in AI despite the atrocious Tech war and extreme T Harding syndrome by the US what do you mean extreme Tanya Harding
Is not like a skater from the 80s do you feel that China will completely overtake Us in next 10 years wow controversial topic here do I think China is going to overtake I think it’s a very good question I think generally speaking there is a trend in which the newest
Technologies are being being developed in the US but it’s being adopted by countries like India and China a lot faster just by nature of it being a developing country like India for example is apparently the company sorry is the country that has the most amount of AI adoption currently as it stands
Right so I don’t know in terms of like is it going to be overtaking the us or something like that the only thing I can say based upon facts is that the China spends two times the amount um of money going into AI research than the US does
China has a history of being able to adopt things very very quickly because of the type of government it has but I think India is also a a country that we really need to look at um in terms of a adoption and seeing what happens so I’m
Not going to make a prediction on that side um but also like having grown up in China and and going back to China previously as well the adoption of AI is definitely there’s is definitely more there’s definitely more adoption um than it is in the US I can I can say
That for sure but on the other hand because of the way that China is the way that it is it also means that if the com if the government decides like oh like this is not very good we should probably not do this which is kind of like what
The US already did right they passed that um what’s that called remind me you American people what is that called the Biden did that thing where he was like tech companies y’all can’t just produce AI models and not let us know about safety he did this
Like a few months ago I don’t remember what it’s called can someone tell me what it’s called um but yes he did that so I feel like there’s like much more concern about AI safety and things like that so if China decided to really like pay attention to AI safety they could
Technically also just cut off AI much faster than some place like the US can so that’s also an interesting way to think about it the intervention in general is just going to be a lot faster um yeah if you watch like my newest video as well there’s I talk a
Lot about one of the biggest coming like the biggest trends that are coming is privacy and security um because with this AI the speed of developing AI the other side of things is the risk of things not working properly people doing really weird things with
It uh executive yes yes yes yes EX order I I think I think that’s what it that’s yeah I I think that’s what it’s called um executive order yeah with Biden and by federal government terms that’s like being able to do that in a few months
That’s like very very fast as opposed to five different years um this is so freaking exciting it is isn’t it it’s like so I when I was watching the the keynote that was happening and just kind of like wandering around GTC do you know that feeling where you’re both so
Excited about everything but at the same time you have like feeling in your gut of being slightly horrified we like greatly horrified you’re like this is so exciting this is going to happen but at the same time like the world is going to change so rapidly it’s already changing
So rapidly I don’t even know what’s going to happen by the end of this year the only thing I know is that we should probably keep up and learn and make sure that we caught up to it it’s just the amount of transformation I don’t know
Like with all these and I don’t think it’s going to stop right it’s going to keep happening and happening happening even between like different companies between different countries it’s not going to stop unless there’s a big intervention because if one company doesn’t do it the other company’s going
To do it so that’s that competition and between countries as well if this country has like the AI to do stuff then other country also wants to do it so it’s just going to get keep getting faster and faster and faster it’s just really interesting I like saying that word a lot
Interesting um that’s that’s me for real right like you know the feeling I’m talking about right it’s it’s just that feeling um I think AI power surveillance is near future I think it’s already happening really yeah I’m actually quite sure it’s already happening we car Andre karthy has a
Detailed video on YouTube about that what what is what exactly does he have a video on um I think no one topic can scap from Gardener’s curve the one about hype cycle this is also something I address um I think in my next video or actually this video check out this video because
That hype cycle it is at the like top of the hype cycle so it is going to diminish but I think it’s hard to say like maybe just the speed of the hype being really high up and then maybe it’s not the technology itself right maybe
The hype cycle is more like so much technology being is being developed but then the like trough of disillusionment or something like that is going to be like the ability of actually integrating this technology into different domains just because a technology is available doesn’t mean that companies and people are being are
Using it in in the way that they should be it takes time it takes people with domain knowledge with engineering knowledge to be able to unlock that capability for most companies assuming you’re not like one of the large tech companies so maybe that’s what it’s going to be but technology itself seems
To be dramatically accelerating and I don’t think anybody could deny the amount of progress that has happened within like the last year two years um maybe computer science and social science will merge I think like liberal arts The Sciences and a lot of these different um disciplines is going to
Become more and more relevant especially for those of you who have like certain domain knowledge I think you you have stand in a really interesting very interesting place in which if you learn Le about how to do these AI things you’re able to dramatically have impact in terms of
Your specific domain um especially with a lot of um these tools becoming so much easier to learn by learning this by learning prompt engineering by learning engineering principles which is also very important um when you think about engineering principles you’re able to unlock so much for that domain um as
Like Jensen PA says like a lot of it is going to be in the Sciences Life Sciences medicine things like that Um all right hey what did I miss you missed GC okay the next one is also freaking insane the next thing he talked about was the Nvidia Omniverse so this is apparently it’s like a development platform um of apis and microservices for building 3D applications um specifically so what
This means is that it provides there’s a lot of like physical things right like we have like ships that are being built we have operational stuff um all these things in the physical world which originally is something that was very hard for AI to optimize because
It’s in the physical world so what this means is that it’s able to create physically accurate World skill simulations that also are abiding by physical law so you can create a digital twin of whatever problem it is that you’re working on maybe you’re trying to build a ship you know do the operations
Blah blah blah like things like that um and you’ll be able to create that digital twin and then in that simulation train your AI model do a bunch of different things and then being able to translate that into the physical world as well this is like really really huge
Because just generally speaking trying to do all of that in the physical world is is either impossible where it’s very very expensive and you’re kind of constrainted by time and space right like you have to like physically do stuff so so you have to like you know
Follow by physics and not be able to have parallel universes but within the Omniverse you’re no longer constrained by time and space you are able to do all of these things using your digital twin and after you like figure things out you can simply translate that into the physical world yeah it’s
Insane when I realize that I’m like holy that’s insane because it’s not just about things in computers anymore it’s about physical things that are that are actually happening um yeah and then they provide these sdks they provide these API so essentially it gives developer the tools in order for
Them to very easily create that digital twin and then do things through digital twin as well so in this case um obviously like you still need to I I think generally speaking it’s still important to learn coding and digit um coding but even more so now prompt
Engineering as a tool because I do think prompt engineering is the coding of the future so I do think it’s very important but also learning the basic engineering principles like what’s an SDK right like what it is that you can do what are the building blocks how is it in engineering
Solutions you’re able to have scalable building blocks in order to achieve the goals that you want to achieve so that engineering concept I think people really need to focus on not just learning how to code but in learning how engineering projects work um like Jensen said right it’s not going to be
Scientific discovery it’s going to going to be scientific engineering so yeah I think that’s just like a really really important thing to keep a no on oh also if you look at the picture um that’s here allegedly they also integrated the Omniverse into Apple Vision Pro so developers and just people
Working on these project they are able to use the Apple Vision Pro in order to see everything in a 3D way as well within the digital twin yeah I want to see what comments you guys have about this democratizing AI isn’t suppression what’s the context for that life
Sciences would be huge yes Life Sciences will be huge and this is also me speaking from the fact I have a degree in Pharmacology which is the study of drugs literally drug Discovery and also in computer science and on the engineering side and what he says is like very much true scientific discovery
It’s about discovering things hypothesis like things like that which you know like that’s the way that we’re able to get science like we like collect evidence and go like oh yeah like this hypothesis is good this one is gets rejected and little by little we develop these um we make these little like
Optimizations um and with drug Discovery like genuinely speaking drug Discovery like most of the drugs that have been developed is literally people just wandering around and being like ooh Why is is my petri dish killing the bacteria and then penicillin was discovered right where like this guy from the Easter
Islands was just like playing with dirt and go like wow this rosin this drug that I suddenly discovered in the dirt this is going to be another antibiotics and so much of drug Discovery is genuinely like that like just people randomly doing stuff and going oh wow like this this like somehow totally
Works um yeah fun fact did you know that viag was actually first developed as a way to combat air sickness sorry not air sick what is that called like just motion sickness yeah and then they’re like oh guess what it also is very helpful with this activity
Too um yeah and that’s just going to become engineering so yeah I think I think if I were to start over again personally what I would do is learn software engineering where like Computer Engineering computer science things that have to do with engineering stuff and focus on engineering principles and
Learn another domain like maybe like some sort of um in the Sciences maybe like pharmacology whatever or maybe in like economics or something like that I think that combination gives you to understanding of how to do engineering and gives you the domain knowledge for what you should be engineering yes beta blockers yeah
Didn’t they just go like oh yeah like wow how did this beta block like a lot of it is literally really like that um for for scientific discovery that is insanely cool you’re amazing for setting the setting these sessions up thank you thank you for
Joining um app Vision Pro about to be a whole Suite in the future I bet I really think Apple Vision Pro is that breakthrough in VR that we were looking for at least like a small breakthrough cuz like Google ass was trying to do that before meta was trying to do their
Oculus I actually worked at Oculus for a while but I think like apple Vision Pro is kind of the the actual Next Step which also makes sense cuz like apple has always been a company about Hardware not meta or Google um my concern is not whether AI becomes conscious but whether we convince
Ourselves that it has become conscious I don’t have I don’t have an answer to that um you need so much Computing capacity to train at LM so only big companies can do it see that’s the thing I don’t think that’s going to be the case in the future I think all of us
Like are going to be able to start training our elements we like having these sdks so that we’re able to train a lot of this um without actually having to do it locally right and then being able to have this compute power within a cloud um by having things like
Simplified a lot more I I just think there’s a lot more flexibility that’s going to be available in the future um do you have a video recommending prompt engineering courses if not can you recommend or too um I have a couple that I made myself which
Is part of lonely octopus so that’s not public but I actually have been thinking about something I was thinking cuz I do have like some other courses that I would love to create um I was like personally thinking I don’t know I’m just going to throw this out there
Because I genuinely think prompt engineering and all of this is going to be super important in the future of creating like a memberships where I’ll be doing like more prompt engineering course courses and then projects and things like that but I don’t know that’s like literally a thought that I was
Thinking about like a week ago um but that I know of I think there’s like some really great resources if you just go on YouTube and you just type prompt engineering um there are some good resources that are there I think like how do I say a lot of courses out there
Oh another one that I think is great deeplearning.ai has some really Great Courses uh there’s one called like promp engineering for developers which I would really recommend um I think in general just be a little bit careful I do feel like a lot of prompt engineering that
People talk about is very surface level like how to get you know answers about things from chbt they don’t really focus on how do you do prompt engineering as a supplement or replacement of coding itself um really like supplementing right now because I don’t think you can
Get away with coding even with like the uh even with the NIMS that we talked about like it’s not he said specifically there’s going to be less lines of code but it’s not going to like not have code at well at all so right right now I
Think it’s still important to know how to code um but being very supplemented by prompt engineering as well um so yeah I don’t even know where I was going at oh yes so I feel like a lot of prompt engineering courses don’t really take that into account they’re coming from
People who are not actually engineers and not familiar with how to use prompt engineering as a coding language itself anyways so yeah I would recommend that uh deeplearning.ai has the best courses because they’re actually people who are Engineers who are very knowledgeable about these domains but anyways yeah let me know what you
Think uh all right accidental science too expensive what’s too expensive is there any good platform to develop more headsets plus tooling I have no idea maybe someone else can have the answer hey what do you think about AI having emotions that humans do is it possible you know so much of what these
People Define as AGI and like emotions I think it genuinely so much of it is based upon what you consider to be emotions like what’s the definition of emotions it’s like a bad not like the best answer um I get what you’re talking about like but isn’t it a lot of that
Based upon your definitions though like what even is conscious like people have been debating that since like the olden days what is consciousness there’s like I think therefore I am and there’s people who are like Consciousness is the Galt principle in which the sum is
Greater than the than the um the sum is greater than the oh my God what was that word the sum is greater than the addition of its parts something like that help me out here the sum is greater okay sorry yes the whole is greater than the sum of its parts yes
Sorry I literally forgot that like there’s also that belief and there’s the belief of which the sum is not greater like the whole is not greater than the sum of its parts there’s just a lot of I think there’s just a lot of debates about that and this kind of goes into
The life sciences as well right u a lot of life science is trying to answer this question uh like what even is being live what is all these things and I think with AI um with engineering we’ll be able to answer answer these questions a lot better than what is currently being
Done especially like things to do with your brain and Neuroscience um I specifically was more focused on like neuros pycho pharmacology there’s it’s surprisingly we have no idea what’s happening in our brains like it’s just we literally just go like poke the brain and see what happens right like it’s
Just such a organ that we have no idea about so I think all of these questions need to have a definition and AI is probably going to Aid in that definition to determine things if that makes sense yes the whole is greater than the sum of Parts yes thank you immer
Immerse IM IM immersing immers what does that mean the process of coming into view or becoming exposed okay I am not sure what that means um can you tell an example of supplemental prompting what is supplemental Oh you mean in terms of coding a supplemental prompting to
Coding no really check out that course um it’s from deeplearning.ai it’s a free course I think it’s still free right now um it’s called prompt engineering for developers that gives a really good example of supplementary coding like for example you can do just go to Chach BTM
Prompt like things right now right and get your answer but if you’re trying to build a product around prompt engineering then maybe the format in which you need the output to be is in like a Json format right and then being able to use that stable format to
Connect to other pieces of software or other things that you’re trying to develop so that’s just an example that course is brilliant I love it um literally takes like an hour to do um so yeah I really think that one’s great cuz like for example if you didn’t know anything about engineering principle
Like what the is a Json you know what I mean um and and these are like things that are still really really important to do or it’s like if you’re trying to like connect different software with each other like if you didn’t know what apis were where the
Concept of connecting software you’ll be like what the is this so that’s why I’m saying like fundamental engineering principles is still really really important um I’ll check it out since you recommended yes please do it really is pretty amazing what was your major in college my major so in my undergraduate was in
Phac ology um and then for my Master’s Degree was in computer science yes as specifically I in especially in my undergraduate I was focused on neuros pycho pharmacology which is stuff to do with the brain um and like things that change the brain drugs that change the
Brain stuff like that hi from Paris hello thank you so much for joining um I consider S I would fun to see what really people say about the answers from LMS I don’t know I’m going to not comment on that okay okay let talk about like the last thing uh that he
Talked about in the keynote yall see those little robots here that are all there yeah he was showcasing all the little robots and then they were following him around and stuff so that was the final breakthrough it’s called project Groot which is General robotics so this was specifically designed um
Project grou was like a AI foundational model which was made for for humanoid robotics so it helped people it helps robots to be better at movement at perception at being able to adapt so robotics has been a field that has been progressing pretty slowly for a very
Long time but with the advented AI it’s extremely accelerated the progression of of robots like things humanoid robots and the physical at other typ to robots as well um yeah and then they were able to come up with specific AI models in order to train robots specifically so it’s
Going to be um a lot more powerful and I think we’re going to be seeing a lot of robots that are not just kind of looking awkward um in the future yeah I think this has a lot of implications I I genuinely think there’s a lot of implications to this first of
All I think the people who are like oh like you know physical jobs and things like that are not going to be ever taken over because robotics is not there like something like that I actually I personally was off this belief just like a few months ago
Um but I don’t think that’s the case I don’t think that’s the case anymore because even with the Omniverse and now with literal humanoid robotics I think we really are seeing that next step towards where AI is not just limited to software anymore AI is literally transcending that into the physical
World yeah it’s not crazy like I I don’t know I also don’t know what to say right I honestly don’t know what to say because I have no idea like it’s I’m not going to go like oh yeah like it’s going take over your jobs I don’t know I think
It’s just going to greatly affect people’s jobs like just like people who do software stuff or like white collar people I think for Blue Collar people as well this is going to be impacting your lives um people who work on engineering things like industrial engineering things like that is going to be
Affecting your life as well because it’s not just software it’s not just limited to software anymore I want to see what everybody has to say about this this is kind of like one of the biggest things like realizations for me like I think the gpus and stuff like
Obviously that was really intense uh but this is like such a like this is just such a shift in how we perceive artificial intelligence it’s nice to see you Sarah hello currently in cyber security do you want to comment on that Eden in terms of cyber security I think think a lot of
People are super are much more concerned with privacy these days are you from China or Japan I am ethnically from China that is my ethnicity pure Chinese emergence is the phenomenal name of that of the sum of the parts is bigger than the original on okay got it
I thought that was the just salt prible but thank you hi from p pistan hello I study psychology University Anthony what did you say RoboCop are you concerned with robots replacing humans I think it just always comes down to that question of augmentation uh versus automation right I think it’s
Just something that’s going to keep getting debated over and over and over again augmentation usually comes before automation some things are just directly automated without augmentation some things get augmented and never never go into go go into they get augmented but never go into automation um yeah I think I’ve talked
About this a couple time so sorry if you’ve heard me talk about this there’s like that recent study um in which they were like talking about this very interesting Paradigm of um I think it was called like efficacy no it was called like impactfulness sorry I forgot
The exact word but how how much of a certain task AI is able to to do and then this concept of um complimentarity which is society as a whole how okay we are in terms of robots we like AI being able to do those tasks like for example
What is very like there’s there’s like three different three different categories right the first one is going to be like high impactfulness sorry I forgot the exact word but it’s jobs or like tasks that will have a lot of exposure that’s the word yes High exposure so jobs that will be be highly
Exposed to artificial intelligence a lot of these tasks can be done um using Ai and then complimentary so there’s High exposure and then low complimentarity so complimentarity in a sense that Society is not going to really do anything to protect that for example a lot of what I
Do now is in that category of high exposure and low complimentarity in terms of content creation um and I’m like very aware of that and does it scare me absolutely it does scare me uh that’s also why I’m so interested in discussing these topics as well cuz yeah
Like you can already see there’s a huge influx of AI generated content these days um and people don’t really care that much about you know like making sure that it people don’t have a lot of AI generated content and then there’s like high compliment High exposure and high complimentarity so these are things
Like doctors um and lawyers where technically a lot of their job can be can be done with AI but we’re just not going to allow it to because we’re like not cool with having an AI judge we’re not cool with having an AI doctor um and then there’s the idea of like low
Compliment like low exposure so just generally speaking AI can’t do this kind of job and it’s usually things that involve human interaction like uh care Aid or like people like that so yeah like I think in terms of augmentation if you’re high complimentarity and high exposure there’s going to be a lot more
Augmentation if you’re higher um exposure and low complimentarity there’s going to be more automation it’s going to lead to more Automation in the future that is my prediction I don’t know if that’s going to be true or not but I think in that Paradigm I think that’s
What’s going to be happening and it starts with augmentation on both sides and that’s also the crazy thing right I think for people who are like oh like I don’t want to learn AI I don’t want to like do these things whether that be like artificial intelligence in terms of
Robots or whatever like you guys I think that’s just a really bad choice because Society really is evolving this is insane right this is insane what’s happening and you kind of need to learn these things to be able to catch up on things like it’s just one of those
Things like a double-edged sword in a sense like the more you learn there’s going to be more Automation and more augmentation that happens but you also like can’t not learn it because then you’re going to be left behind and just not know what’s happening so I feel like
It’s something that I debate about a lot as well like in my brain because there’s certain things that genuinely scare me there’s certain things that I like you know fear of the unknown is what people have um these trends that are happening but at the same time I know I need to
Learn these skills because that’s the only way I’m going to be able to survive be able to be better than AI generating content be able to use AI to generate content right like all of these things I need to be able to learn them or else I’m going to be
Automated like I don’t know that’s kind of like depressing I hope it’s not like super depressing but that’s kind of how I see things right now like if you’re if something could be impacting your work and your life don’t you want to be the first person who at least gets
A choice in terms of how it’s going to impact your work in your life I would let’s see what people are saying I saw police dog robot train to handle traffic um there was like I forgot what the company was somebody remind me the one that like
Build robots there was like this robot dog that was running around uh throughout GTC it was just like doing dog stuff robot dog stuff um Boston Dynamic yes yes Boston dynamic yeah it was just like running around and it was interesting um yesterday A friend of mine talked about this topic and one
Friend said AI will replace everything but he doesn’t come from Tech sector I just think it’s a very simplistic view by saying it’s going to replace everything it’s so simplistic it doesn’t take into account for the technology that’s available but even more so it doesn’t take into account of human
Nature and how Society is structured yeah David shapir does a lot work on futurism it has a few highle G projects like Ace yeah I’ve been like checking out David Shapiro he’s I think it’s very interesting he also has like a pretty strong stand point about stuff uh
Which I find to be very interesting food for thought so I would recommend checking out his channel for sure it’s not just confined to AI news like he does a lot more than just AI news uh would it be safer to study mathematical economics and learn about
AI loan or should I study Cs and learn about economics alone I just want to make a point not to use you as an example but I don’t think the word safer is the correct word safer implies that you’re scared and you’re going to hide
Away from AI I think AI is going to touch all of our Lives I think the question is more what is it is it more advantageous is there more opportunities available if you do one thing plus something else um yeah I don’t think safer is the right word and that’s
Something that it’s really hard for me to answer this question to be honest I think any domain Plus Engineering some sort of engineer Computer Engineering computer science one of those two I think that personally again personally right personally is what I would choose um whether that be mathematical
Economics or economics alone I don’t know I just think that combination is a good choice and truthfully speaking I don’t really know what the difference is between mathematical economics and economics alone maybe somebody else can uh answer that as well with adoption of AI companies plan to not replace workers but still down
Hiring is efficiency improves will they create issues in future hiring I think it already is doing that um it’s like a gig economy now there’s a lot of Freelancers a lot of companies are laying off people who are not particularly associated with AI uh tech companies at least are doing that and
The people they’re hiring back or people who are focused on AI people who are Freelancers and contractors um and their stocks are sore boring so they have no incentive to not do that in the future I think the at least in the near future I don’t know in
Like 5 years I don’t even know in like two years maybe or okay maybe two years maybe not five years um I think what it’s going to Showcase is people who have the skill set like people who are able to see the opportunities in integrating AI those are the people who
Will find a lot of opportunities to move forward not as much like more traditional people um I think if you don’t incorporate AI into your toolkit then you will be left behind but we’re also at a very very early stage right now so being able to say for example
Keep up with these Trends right that are happening right now um learning the right skill set that puts you in a very advantageous position not necessarily exactly what you were doing before um but maybe something else what about lunch I know I’m going to go get lunch after I’m so hungry
Right now it’s almost 1:00 I had tacos in the breedo I call it lunch and learn but I feel like I never have any lunch robots can help in situations that are more unsafe for humans I agree with that I think there’s a lot of there’s there’s
A lot of good things that can happen from from robots like sometimes we just focus too much on the negatives of things but absolutely like for a lot of surgeries and things like that U robots can help with very dangerous situation physical situations there’s just yeah I
Think it really is it’s just you need to be you need to be able to think outside the box and think about all the things that are happening and try to shape the things that you think are happening in society um I don’t want don’t want dismiss David shapira but bold proclamations are
Likely to gain one more attention yeah I would agree I think the whole AI news were like I don’t know what that’s called like the AI YouTuber people AI content creators I think there’s a general Trend in which they like to overstate things um in order to stand
Out um I personally don’t really like it that much but at the same time maybe that’s just what you have to do if you’re in that Niche um I think it’s important to balance yourself even like I’m not like I think you shouldn’t just listen to me and just believe whatever
It is that I say right like don’t don’t do that please I think people have different evidence different opinions and different things you need to be able to look at all of the different um people with their different viewpoints and evaluate the evidence that they’re speaking of this is very important too
Many people have just opinions about stuff and be able to combine that information to figure out what is actually happening what you think is happening um yeah I don’t think you should listen to one person specifically um I’m eating cheddar cheese and cracker I’ll be down for that I’m just so hungry right
Now I feel like programming is the New Age Blue Collar no I can see that that’s an interesting way of putting it China has 40% of the total robot Market already so you know when I was in China um it’s actually wasn’t Beijing really close to where I I live there was this
Robot convention but sadly I didn’t go to that um but I did see videos about it it’s very interesting I keep using that word interesting interesting is a good word because I don’t know if it’s like a good word or a bad word it’s just interesting
Facts all right I’m going to go eat I’m starving to death right now um thank you thank you all so much for for joining the live stream hopefully this was an interesting live stream where we discussed things that you have thoughts about what you want to do more things
That you want to learn um more things to think about maybe some perspectives about what you want to be doing in the future as well so hope that was helpful I I always love doing these live streams I love hearing everybody’s opinion and I will see yall in the next
