Sky-Vue Skateland is thrilled to share the resounding success of its STEM field trip program for the 2023-2024 academic year. With 51 field trips, the program engaged over 3,629 students from 14 different school districts and sparked joy and excitement, making learning a truly interactive and fun experience.
The STEM field trip program, a beacon of innovation and creativity, was launched to inspire and educate young minds in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Students were not just taught but allowed to explore various STEM concepts through hands-on activities and immersive experiences at the skating rink, creating a unique and effective learning environment.
“We are thrilled with the overwhelming participation and positive feedback from students and educators,” said Anna Kruger, STEM Director of Sky-Vue Skateland.
“Our goal was to make STEM learning accessible and enjoyable for students of all ages. And it’s rewarding to see our impact on so many young minds.”
Denise Watkins, the owner of Sky-Vue Skateland, estimates that 90% of students had never roller skated before attending the STEM field trip. Mrs. Denise gave a lesson on learning to skate with demonstrations and instructions. Many students leave confident that they can roller skate after overcoming the challenge of learning a new skill.
Looking ahead, Sky-Vue Skateland is steadfast in its commitment to expand its STEM field trip offerings. To reach even more students and provide enhanced educational experiences, the rink’s dedication to fostering a love for STEM in the younger generation remains unwavering, inspiring hope for a brighter future.
