Hey guys today we are at the world’s largest indoor roller rink gupta in latham new york yeah it’s like negative six degrees out today so that’s why we’re here yeah it’s so cold out but neither of us know how to roller skate no so i’m just hoping i
Don’t care yeah i can roll their blade but we’ll see if they have those here but we have also never been here so we figured we’d show you around just to see how big this place actually is what it costs what the experience is like if you’re looking for something to do in
Upstate new york so ready to get to it yeah all right let’s go pretty busy yeah so that’s the roller skating rink right now they’re only open on weekends i think in the summer maybe they open more um but that’s the rink and then in the summer they have the ice cream shop
Which has very good reviews too so um but it’s closed for the winter so we’ll see how this goes how do you think you’ll do uh i don’t think i’m gonna be able to move that’s my fear i think i’m just gonna like yeah probably we’ll find out
The bigger it is the more embarrassing it can be when you fall masks are still required in new york so if you come here just keep that in mind let’s check this out oh my god this is so cool it already looks kind of uh dangerous yeah so it’s 15
To come in five for skates they do have lockers yeah are they free it’s a quarter it’s a quarter oh okay so yeah we might as well get a locker oh yeah they give you tickets yep so this is going to get us our roller skates so i’ll show you where that is We’re going to put these in and then they don’t have roller blades they just have roller skates i think you can bring blades i see people with blades yeah so they do have these benches and you can kind of sit on the bench put your shoes on and
Then they have a skating craft this area here so you can practice in this area before going out onto the main ring so that’s super helpful these are the skates we rented so i got my skates on uh they’re heavy are yours heavy oh she’s up oh my god
I’m nervous you got it all right let’s try it first steps there you go So it’s kind of like ice skating just one foot put your weight on one foot and lean forward We got this okay here take my hand no nate no no no ready there you go it’s the moment of truth we’re gonna try to go out onto the floor together it’s so busy it’s like going onto a freeway gabby skating kind of you got it oh you’re moving
You’re getting pretty quick the floor is nice i like the wood floor breaking news we have made it halfway around we’ve got to the cars pretty cool we’re on the other side you’ve done half a lap yeah you got it we completed a lap you’re getting better so it looks like
There are different skating options up there they have allstate ladies only couples exchange right up here i think one of the things that surprised me is like you come in and it literally is just the ring yeah i don’t think they have like any party rooms or anything i think they
Have like the booths near the snack bar yeah but there’s no like actual party room so right it’s just the whole warehouse is the thing but lots of benches another thing to know like ice skating rinks you know how they have the wall yeah this there’s like gaps where
There’s no wall so if you’re skating in the middle like there’s a good chance there’s a portion that won’t have a wall yeah so that you can see here there’s a gap in the wall so that’s something to keep in mind if you’re going you gotta be careful Spread it all over time Where I never thought Back on solid ground good time but definitely uh time to be done back to the lockers only 25 cents which is nice what it’s so hot yeah it does get very warm in here we realized by the end we were sweating so you probably get away like we said super
Cold outside you can get away with a t-shirt like inside here so in the snack bar it looks like they have sodas pizza hot dogs cheese dogs pretzels nachos i like they also have an arcade pretty cool so if you’re tired of skating let’s check this out it’s nice it smells like
A vintage shop in here like it smells like 1970. like the wood and stuff a pretty cool extension so refreshing being outside it was getting hot yeah okay we are back in the car what do you think of gupta’s it was fun yeah i really liked it
I think i like it better than ice skating because it’s like smooth the whole time sometimes when you ice skate the ice like piles up unless they zamboni it yeah but this was fun yeah i was reading that it’s like custom oak floor they have a subfloor and it’s been
Kind of the same since the 50s it’s opened in 1951 and it was nice it’s fifteen dollars a gun to get in five dollars to rent skates but you can bring your own skates yeah and they do sell skates too if you wanted to buy skates and buy like
Protective equipment if this is gonna be a thing after trying it but it is fun though i would consider trying to roller skate yeah yeah i got the hang of it towards the end and they played a lot of really nice music like a nice variety because they play
Current pop and then they do like old older stuff too yeah so i felt cooler i was surviving more of the older stuff yeah because everything is very retro in there when the ymca played everyone was having a good time i would recommend too like wearing a
T-shirt because it does get really warm and like we said it’s cold outside but we were sweating and i was just in a flannel and the lockers are worth it if you’re not coming with someone to hold your stuff because it was only a quarter and it’s definitely i think i didn’t see
Anyone on the rink holding stuff yeah or with their coat on so it is definitely worth it to do the locker i like the disco balls me too let’s get a disco ball somewhere in our house yeah chandelier that’d be cool it was fun so the decor was cool the floor was huge
Definitely i was going to say the biggest one i’ve ever been but it’s the biggest one in the world yeah obviously and then i think um everyone has to pay just to get in so even if you’re not skating i’m pretty sure you have to pay
Just an entry fee yup so uh there was a lot of people like a lot of parents that were just watching and hanging out yeah and then some cool dads doing tricks trying to impress their kids yeah weren’t looking i said they were pretty good that one guy was really good i was
